Vehicle Detail
PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING! Listed for sale is my personal late 1970 MGB-GT. It is a real survivor with only 28k original miles. I am the third owner. Car has been garaged much more than it has been driven. Original owner parked it indoor in 1973. The second owner bought it about 1990, drove it till about 1993 and then parked it indoors too. I bought it and have kept it inside as well. According to the second owner, the original owner souped up the car some. I can attest that this car can move! It has a GK block with smog removed. The engine is very quiet for a British four. Does not knock or anything. Runs and drives smooth. Fresh tune up. Clutch and trans work well. I bought the car with 26,000 miles and have really enjoyed running it around! Also according the the second owner, the original owner replaced the rear damper shocks with Konis. These are still here today and have the Koni stickers! Up front are good working damper shocks. Car has a custom exhaust that has been with it since the 70s. Factory wire wheels with brand new tires and tubes. Car stops well and handles too. Cosmetically the car is a good original. It has newer Urethane paint that shines nicely. There are some normal wear marks here and there. There is some filler in the rockers and quarters but the frame and floor are clean. Body looks pretty straight over all. It is not a bondo queen. Chrome has some flakes and peppering but still shines nice. The interior is in very nice unmolested shape. The Abingdon Pillow dashboard is virtually crack free. The carpets are in pretty good shape with some wear. Second owner says he replaced them in the 90s. Also the knob is broken off of the the passenger side window crank but the window sill goes up and down. The knob is included with the car. Also has lug wrench but no spare tire. There is a belt buckle rip in the drivers seat. Headliner is not all stained up. Heat works well! Over all the car is a good survivor. It is not being represented as a restored or perfect vehicle in any means. Any 42 year old car will have some imperfections and things missing broken or not working. It is a good low mileage classic that can be driven while restored. Additional pictures on request. Viewing can be scheduled before auction end and is encouraged!!!! LOCAL PICK UP ONLY!!!!
