Vehicle Detail
Hello everyone. I have up for sale a project that will never get done with my schedule lol. It is a 1988 toyota pick up with 4 wheel drive and the bullet proof 22re with a 5 speed manual transmission. I bought this last june from a local gentleman with the intentions of using it as a winter work vehicle. I ran it around here on the back roads (never had a tag on it). The body from the cab up is nice with the exception of the pass front fender (rust on lip i didnt repair it). The box i got down in south jersey as they are hard to find up here it is rusty but a good start (original paint no surprises). I just recently 20 miles ago put a new clutch in the truck as it was slipping bad when i bought it. The 4 wheel drives works fine (front axle boots have no tears in them) hubs are easy to lock and unlock (front drive shaft was replaced less than 1000 miles ago i have receipt). The interior is nice for the age, one crack in the dash, original vinyl mat and seat (seat is worn on drivers side), all the guages and lights work headliner is nice also are the door panels. All the glass is good (new windshield jan. of 2012 have receipt). The tires are literally new less than a 1000 miles (have receipt). All the exterior lights work on the outside (rear tail lights are after market as i could not find originals) also added fog lights on a switch. The suspension is tight (Lower control arms were replaced 15,000 miles ago (have receipt). The brakes function as they should (rears are 4 bonded) (front are 4 bonded) the right front calipar was replaced about a 1000 miles ago i have a receipt. The emergency brake works also. Exhaust is quiet and was done about a thousand miles ago i have the receipt also the oxygen sensor was replace 16,000 miles ago. The fuel pump and sending unit were replaced less than 500 miles ago (i have receipt). The engine has had a crank seal replaced on it, also the v-belts replaced about 16,000 miles ago (have receipt). The oil was changed 1000 miles ago. The grill and bumper are painted with a chip guard (i dont know y i didnt do it) but are in nice shape. I replaced the rear bumper with a later model toyota one. Now the bad lol. Frame is in nice shape for a vehicle up here but the back crossmember should be repaired, the other cross memeber for the gas tank was repaired but could have did a nicer job welding it. The truck sat for a while and sometimes will sputter but i think some plugs and just running the old gas out of it will do it fine. I drove the truck and had it idling with pics being taken. Only on initial start will it stumble but if you feed it the gas it will clear right up (tune up, fuel filter?). Also the left front caliper pins are frozen in the calipar i didnt even mess with it. The calipar is fine its just the pins that slide in it to hold the brake pads are stuck. Very common problem with these. All in all i think its not a bad truck and can easily be driven home. There is plenty of life in it. If you are familiar with these, they are getting hard to come by in this area. I set the reserve very reasonable consider all the work and the low miles on the truck. If you are local and would like to see please contact me. I have more pics of the frame i could email. Last thing the truck is inspected til January of 2013. When i mean the truck has sat i meant from 2010 til now it only had 1500 miles put on it. Hope the pics help. If any questions text or call me at 570-301-4842 my name is Fred. Thanks and good luck.lowered relisted: I have lowered the reserve very close to the last top bid. Thanks again and have a happy holiday. On Nov-26-12 at 16:10:10 PST, seller added the following information: revision. To all that are viewing, the spit and sputtering is no more. I put some fresh gas in it drove it around the back road for bout 20 miles every day when I come home from work I fire it up. Not once did it spit or sputter. Start right up no noise or surprises. Thanks again.
