Vehicle Detail
PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION I'm being very honest about the truck, almost to a fault, so as to avoid any confusion on the part of you, the bidder/buyer. Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at anytime. Likewise, I reserve the right to cancel zero (0) feedback bidders. Please e-mail me first if you are a zero (0) feedback bidder. This SUV runs and drives exactly how it sits, and the 4WD system works as it is supposed to. However, it does need some tinkering here and there. The first and foremost problem is that it is somewhat difficult to get into gear from a stop. I have been told this is likely related to the clutch cable. Please note that this truck has cable-actuated clutch, not a hydraulic one. There is no master cylinder nor slave cylinder. It can be driven how it is, and drives normally once you take off in it. The next probem is the driver's window track is malfunctioning. The window stays up, but can be lowered manually (I will demonstrate) from the inside. For this reason, the door pannel is off of the driver's door. The last "major" issue is the rear door. I replaced the hinges but due to my disability, I was unable to get the door to lineup and to close flush with the other door. This creates a small gap, but it does close and lock how it is. This is a small issue that can easily be fixed by somebody with the skill and ability I lack. In relation to this, the rear wiper assembly works but is not installed, as with the door pannel for the same door. Again, it would be easy for anybody who is handy to install these items. The engine has a 2bbl carburetor. It does take a few pumps of the throttle to start it, unlike a modern fuel injected vehicle. There is nothing wrong with it in this respect, but a few people who have looked at it did not realize how a carb'ed vehicle works in this manner, which is why I'm making a note of it here. The truck has manual steering, and pulls slightly to the right under hard braking (but stops fairly well for a truck this old). The windshield has a crack. The speedometer and oil pressure gauges do not work. Other than that, it drives well and tracks straight ahead. It does not overheat, it does not stall out, and the A/C and heat work. It has new NGK plugs, new wires, cap, rotor, fuel and air filters. I have recently changed the oil with a top quality oil and filter (an extra quart is included with the truck). I also recently changed the fluid in the transmission. The reason I am selling the truck is to get something with an automatic transmission and cruise control. I have found a Ford Aerostar for sale locally that I plan to buy with the money from this truck, so no trades are sought at this point. Please note that I am being as honest as I can about the truck. It is for sale AS-IS and WHERE-IS. I have listed it's problems to the best of my ability and I can in no way promise that these are the only problems a skilled mechanic could find wrong with it. It is an old truck. That being said, it does run good and drive well for how old it is. PLEASE e-mail any questions BEFORE bidding. I encourage you to come and test drive the truck before you bid. Again, it is for sale locally so I may cancel the auction at anytime. The title is clear, in my name and will be released to a licensed driver upon full recipt of payment. PAYMENT IS DUE WITHIN 5 DAYS OF AUCTION END. VEHICLE SHOULD BE PICKED UP AT THAT TIME. VEHICLE WILL NOT BE RELEASED UNTIL PAID FOR IN FULL. On Nov-14-12 at 11:04:51 PST, seller added the following information: Add: I am willing to meet a winning bidder at Mobile (AL) or Gulfport (MS) airports (the two nearest airports), but please e-mail me ahead of time if your plan is to fly in. Please note that it is policy in Mississippi to remove the license plate when the vehicle is sold, so there will be no tag on the truck when it is picked up. Thanks.
