Very rare FIAT first year 1936 Topolino Simca This car is in good running order. the engine starts right up and surprisingly runs quite well. The car can be driven although the brake system needs a master cilynder. I personally drove the car very slow using the emergency brake in order to stop. I took a little video and I will post it on this auction. Despite the age the body pretty solid, I saw a few rust spots by the canvas top near the back where it connects though the rust is pretty contained just in those spots. Theer is also some rust right on the corner of the driver side rear wheel well where it connects to the rocker panel. Rust can be also seen throughout the all underneath of the vehicle although I did not see any rusted thru parts. The metal used on this car is solid. All things considered this is a pretty good candidate for restoration. I am a The canvas top can be opened and retracts all the way to the back of the car. 2 Phillips screws from the inside keep the canvas in place. On the front grille the emblem reads FIAT SIMCA giving me the idea that this was a car made between the FIAT Italian auto maker and Simca the French one. SIMCA can be read also on the engine.
