Up for Bid is this Rare, Rust Free 1986 Shelby GLHS Dodge Omni Number 064 or 500. It is listed in Shelby Registry. It currently has a 2.5l engine, A555 5 Speed Transmission, A/C, Power Steering and 4 Wheel Power Disc Brakes. The engine and transmission were rebuilt approximately 3,000 miles ago. All the lights, turn signals, wipers radio, gauges, heater and A/C work . The engine was built to hand more boost (18psi+), but for the street 12-14psi is plenty. It corners like a go-kart and with the 4 wheel disc brakes, stops on a dime. Even gets good gas mileage if you can control your right foot. Drivetrain: All of the wear items have been inspected and replaced as needed, including the hoses, belts, timing belt, filters, etc. Brand new parts include the starter, front wheel hubs, and a Magnaflow muffler in place of the cat. A newer 3" Magnaflow Converter is included but not installed. The engine cast numbers indicate it as a 1989-90 2.5l Turbo Block, with the balanced shafts removed. Most of the drivetrain was rebuilt by the previous owner. The block was built with .020 over Venolia pistons, Clevite 77 bearings and Melling oil pump. The G-casting 287 heads have a mild porting and larger valves installed. Garrett Turbo II Turbocharger, with a 3" Swingvalve and a full 3" exhaust. It currently has two large mufflers (Flowmaster in stock location) and is very quiet. Also has a large custom intercooler, with a Greedy BOV. A Grainger valve to manual adjust the boost and currently set at 12psi. Features a custom calibrated SMEC, 72lb injectors and adjustable Accufab fuel pressure regulator. The cooling fan is easy to remove, making it a breeze to get to the oil filter. The upgraded rear disc brakes are from a Dodge Shadow. The Rebuilt A555 shifts smooth and has a Quafie LSD adn Chrome-Moly End Plate. The engine doesn't leak, smoke or burn oil. Always filled with Mobile 1. Body/Interior: The original paint is in pretty good shape for it's age. There are some normal chips and a couple parking lot dings in the body. The previous owner had the top and gate covered in a faux carbon wrap and is in very good condition. This was done because the paint was peeling on the roof. The Shelby Decals are in good condition except on the windshield, which is very faint. The Centurion Wheels show very well, no road rash. The newer Dunlop Direzza tires have plenty of tread left. The interior is in very good condition, with a tiny bit of wear on the drivers seat back. The headliner needs some attention mainly above the back seat area, may need to be replaced. The seats are from a 1987 Shelby Charger. It features a Sony radio, a small EGT Pyrometer and a Mopar Boost/Vacuum Gauge. Omni's have plenty of head room and leg room with the Momo steering wheel. The rest of the interior is stock and in very good condition, no wear or cracks. Some of the Shelby items have been replaced with aftermarket parts, like the steering wheel, shifter and intercooler. It doesn't have the front Koni struts, but does have the original rear Konis. These item do come up for sale on ebay from time to time. The horn doesn't work.
