1979 Honda XR

After being stored in a garage every night for the past 32 years it is finally time for my trusted XR 250 to find a new home. I don't think the pictures will do it justice, but the bike is in exceptional, original condition. The metal gas tank still shines like new and the bike runs exactly like the day it was purchased. Even the stock, original handlebars are as straight as an arrow. This bike would make an excellent addition to a collection or it could be ridden all day long. I'm 55 years old and I have never sold anything on eBay before. In the interest of full disclosure I want to point out that the original kick starter is somewhere in my garage but I can't find it! Years ago I installed a similar one that works just fine. Also, the cable for the compression release is missing. It too is somewhere in may garage. Both parts can be purchased on eBay for a few bucks but you probably would only want them if you will be displaying the bike as part of a collection. The bike runs and looks awesome as-is. Being an off-road bike it does not have a title. The software required me to make a selection so I picked "clear". Also, I don't know the exact mileage since the speedometer was removed and put in a box in 1979 and only re-installed about 4 years ago. Since that time I have ridden it a total of just 18 miles! (Now you see why I'm selling it!). I'm guessing that the bike has about 1,000 miles on it in total but that's just a guess. I also have most of the documentation with the bike including the factory shop manual and an original Honda fold-out ad from '79. Even the original tool kit is in the bag on the back fender! I can answer questions or send additional pictures (or a video) upon request. The buyer will be responsible for shipping but I am happy to help from here (in upstate South Carolina) as best I can.
