True Firebird 400 Convertible. Car is in pieces and some body parts like rear seat support and rear, top panel and just sitting in place. However, I have every body part, brackets, supports for the car except the rear body panel. I began to restore this car by replacing the full floor and rockers, and rear frame rails. The car has sat in a leaking garage since the 70's The trunk is original and very nice. The trouble I had was that the RH rocker, being a repro, was not made correctly and is on an angle. In other words, it's outer edge is sitting too high. Therefore, the quarter won't align properly. You cant see the problem by just looking at it. Even a body man looked and couldnt find anything wrong until I explained it to him.It can be straightened using a frame machine or by replacing the rocker. I am very perticular about the fits and correctness of the car and this has turned to off to finishing the project. Also, I've simply invested too much at this point. Bad for me, good for you as my reserve is less than half what I have into the car! In fact, the reserve is not much more than the cost of the reproduction parts I've bought for the car. The car was assembled on a jig and all tolerances are with 1/8". The car sits very level. Even without the structural pieces in the rear seat area welded in yet (and I have them all in great shape) the car doesn't sag one bit! The left rocker, and everything else aligns beautifully! The cowl and dash are original. The subframe is original, but has one bend in the foreword member. The car comes with a nice original member to weld in. The engine and trans are NOT original. The engine is a 68 400 coded YA but it WONT turn over. The trans is a TH400 and car comes with another TH400 PY code trans. The rear is original, but not a posi. I don not have the 400 hood for the car. I have a flat hood if the new owner wants it. This is a true PHS documented 400 Firebird. Other options are: Air conditioning (Missing compressor and brackets, but everything else is there) Power steering (pump missing, but steering gear is the correct, original fast ratio unit) Power brakes (4 wheel drum) Power top(pump missing) *Note: although not pictured, the original conv top frame with good front bow is also included Custom interior (NO SEATS included. I never had them. I do have the rear, side armrest assemblies though) Rally II Wheels ( I don't have them. Car comes with later model Chevy rallys) Console ( nice shape with correct 3 speed auto shifter) Tinted glass, all (all glass in there except windshield. Also, bird etched door glass) AM radio (have it) Also, not pictured, All the dash parts, including gauge cluster included Car was code L. Rare Aluthian Blue with Teal color interior. Overall, a good deal for the money. With a low initial investment, you can put money into this car, get it right, enjoy the hell out of it and it will only appreciate in value Again, I have 80% of the parts for the car. And comes with the passenger fender and wheelhouse though not pictured. It also comes with an extra, nice drivers door. PLEASE ask me any question as I am very honest about the car and I want the new owner to be happy with it, and not get frustrated and park it out back to rot.If you dont see a piece, ANY piece pictured, please ask about it.
