We purchased the V10 engine at $5500.00 less than the diesel engine after doing the cost difference with our accountant. We discovered that it would take between 12 and 15 years @ approximately 20 thousand miles per year to recover the difference in cost to buy a diesel engine. That is at an average of .35cts per gallon more to purchase diesel. When we purchased the truck on 08/12/2010 in Texas, the mileage on the odometer was 54,317. The truck was used as a personal vehicle only, no business use, as did the previous owner who never used it for heavy towing. We used it to pull our fifth wheel on 5 trips and other than that just local useage The holes are already in the bed for the fifth wheel hitch after we sold the fifth wheel and the hitch. (getting too old for the traveling) Other than standard oil & lube this truck has been maintenance free. We have all records for the new owner. This 250 has been a dream to drive and ride in.
