Vehicle Detail

I have owned this 1969 Roadrunner for about 32 years and purchased it from the original owner with original miles. This is an all numbers matching car. It is a special order Spring Orange color, much more rare than Vitamin C. The body of this vehicle is mostly original with mostly original paint, carpet, headliner, dashpad, door panels and so on but with the seat covers replaced with new ones from Legendary a short time ago due to split seams in the original vinyl front cover. Despite the low mileage, I initially wanted to restore the entire vehicle to show condition. So I pulled the engine and had it rebuilt by the best shop in Los Angeles shortly after I bought it, using only the highest quality parts. I went through the transmission and replaced the seals and clutches just to freshen it up and then I also rebuilt the whole front suspension, brakes and had the radiator recored with a very high efficiency Craig core. At this point I started driving it around and enjoyed it so much just as it was, I decided to just put the full restoration off to another time. Well, that time never came. This car runs beautifully - the engine is very smooth, powerful and quiet, the suspension is tight, the transmission is flawless and the brakes are excellent - the only drum brake car that I have said that about! It is a joy to drive. The body has had a scrape on the passenger side on the door and rear quarter panel that was repaired before I got the car, so there is a thin layer of bondo and some repaint on that side and there was a small dent on the driver side quarter at the very rear that was also fixed, again with minimal bondo. Other than those two repairs, the body is very nice and straight. There are the usual dings in a number of spots on the car that occured mostly before I got the car. The tires are old but have very few miles on them. I have driven the car since the rebuild of the powertrain only about 3000 miles. There is no rust on this vehicle except for some surface rust in the trunk floor (it is very solid) and two small spots at the very end of the roof rear C pillars, which also appears to be only surface. This car has been garaged ever since I bought it and has been kept maintained well over time. As I am getting older now, I feel the need to reduce the size of my collection to something more manageable. The real appeal of this car besides how well it runs and drives is that it has never been modified or beat up and has been kept strictly original. These models are very hard to find in this condition and low mileage. It does need its vinyl top replaced. Everything works including the radio, gauges, heater, horn etc. The bumpers were replated many years ago but are still excellent. There is some light pitting in the vent window frame, base of the outside mirror and door handles. The tail light bezels have a little as well, but I am providing NOS bezels and tail light lenses with the car. The exhaust tips are new. I may have some other trim that I will supply with the car if I can find it (such as NOS headlight bezels). Please ask all questions and get approval from your other half before you bid. There are more photos upon request. Winning bidder will need to pay in full within 7 days of close of auction and a $500 non-refundable deposit will be due within 2 days of close of auction by Paypal. In rechecking the numbers on this car today, I found that the engine is definitely the original matching numbers engine, but the transmission numbers do not match, and instead, it appears to be perhaps a service replacement from the factory that must have happened before I bought the car. My sincere apologies for this error and if anyone wishes to remove their bid to this point, that would be fine.
