Up for auction is this 1966 Ford Thunderbird that you can drive home - I'm listing this vehicle for a friend of mine who is very willing to talk to anyone about its condition, ie whats been replace or what still might need to be done. There are no warrenties expressed or written but as I indicted, the owner will provide you with as much detail as you request. Now, for the details as I know them; Body description: - This car was originally from California and as a result, has very little rust as you can see from the photos. The small amount of what I would consider 1st time rust (really can't see any rust repair work from any previous owners) is located in the left quarter(a small amount above and rehind the wheel opening) and a small spot in the lower right quarter. There is no rust in either door or either front fender, in fact the right front fender and hood were replaced with straight and rust free parts. Both pieces had dent damage and warrented the replacement. The floors as you can see have zero rust, the fronts had surface rust and were POR'ed. As can be seen in one of the pictures, the right door had a previous dent and will need to be worked but again, no rust thru in the doors. Trunk floor had surface rust and as you can see, they were just POR'ed for protection. Deck lid is fine and both front and rear valance panels are good. Original paint color was Ivy Gold that would have matched the interior very nicely. Roof hardware and vinyl cover were removed so obviously the top will require replacement. note: The front license plate bracket is not with the car but the bumperetts are will be included. Interior description - as can be seen by the pictures, the interior is in very nice original condition with a 6 way power drivers seat. The headliner was replaced as you can see. Negative aspects; dash pad is cracked (seller will supply a replacement), drivers door grip needs attention, rugs are gone and wood grain strip on the headliner console is coming down. There is brand new Ford speaker installed in the dash but there is no radio. Electrical description - Sequential tail lights work well as do all of the power windows....all glass good. Engine description - Original Ford 390 runs very strong, no smoke, no knock etc...previous owner had replaced 4 barrel with 2 barrel and runs very well.This car was driven by the current owner for at least a year so mechanically, all but the A/C is in good working order. The A/C works but doesn't hold a charge for too long. Tail pipes with glass pack mufflers were installed (H pipe is weak). Battery tray was professionaly replaced with proper repair piece and the battery is apx 6 months old. Mechanical description - Owner installed a new gas tank, rebuilt all brakes (rotors & drums cut) and installed a rebuilt master cylinder and vaccum booster. Rear axle bearings and seals were replaced, all tires are strong with good thread life. Check my rating/feedback and good luck, thanks for looking.
