Vehicle Detail
This car is no spring chicken, but it is bound to be a good runner for someone. Need inexpensive transportation right away? Buy this car and get the work done as you can afford to. It was my cousin's car. He died a couple weeks ago unexpectedly so I'm just trying to get the car to a new home. First, the good news. Four cylinder, 16 valve engine has a lot of pep but gets great gas mileage ReliableRuns smoothNo rust; paint is in great shape too Interior is in excellent shape; the only problem is one small worn area about the size of your thumb on the lower back of where the driver sits (probably from my cousin's belt as he leaned to get in and out of the vehicle) Rebuilt transmission last yearSelling at NO RESERVE! Someone is going to get a great deal on this car. Now, the not-so-good news. Surprised? Don't be, this is not a car in perfect shape. Needs front struts and a ball joint replacementTires are going to need to be replaced -- it's timeFront bumper paint is peeling at driver's corner; this was a repair from a fender bender caused by a low speed collision, and the repair shop apparently didn't do a great job with durable paint work. I've seen a lot worse but that's the only real flaw on the exterior. Check out the photos. ABS stopped working (so, naturally, the ABS light is on)Burns oil but it's manageable This would be a great car for someone who has a little bit of knowledge and time on their hands to get the car back in tip-top shape. Also a good choice for a first time driver who needs a decent looking car and can fix it up a little at a time while driving it. It's got high miles but that's really not the issue, just needs some maintenance that my cousin kept putting off. On Nov-01-12 at 20:50:50 PDT, seller added the following information: ** A little more information about the issue of the front bumper paint. It's peeling in several places but no worse than what is seen in the close-up. It's only the front bumper. On Nov-02-12 at 10:47:48 PDT, seller added the following information: **UPDATE** Additional day time photos added. I want to be very forthcoming about the condition of the car so daylight was better to show scratches on passenger side and the peeling on the bumper. Car has two remote fobs to unlock the doors etc., one of which works. I am not sure if the other needs just a battery or is broken. I checked with a friend of mine who's a mechanic. He looked at the car and said he doesn't think the car is burning much oil if at all. It's got some seepage which he said is typical for this age/usage. Also it's not a ball joint, it's a bearing that needs replacing, that's on the passenger side. Both sides need a bushing replaced as well.
