My name is Tom Letourneau, I live in Cumberland, RI and I am a long time member of the Alfa Romeo Club! I took this Alfa as partial payment on a 1988 Alfa Spider 'SCCA' Race Car that I was selling to Nationally Known, Vintage Alfa Romeo, Racing Car Driver "Tom" Ragonetti of Denver, CO. Tom, a very well known, highly respected attorney, in Denver, races on both the East Coast and the West Coast... with "4" different Vintage Alfa Romeo's! Here is his personal web site! http://www.ojrnr.com/members/index.cfm?fuseaction=attorneyDetail&userID=125 The Alfa that I am selling here, as mentioned, was taken in trade, from Tom, as partial payment for my old Alfa Race Car! This Alfa had 2-previous owners, according to Tom, before he acquired it..... one of those owners being his law partner! Tom owned the car for over 7-years and the car was always a Denver car! While Tom had this Alfa (which was always garaged) he had a complete valve job done, a K&N High Performance Filter conversion set-up installed; an ANSA Exhaust System installed and, according to Tom, "He said he thought) that the shop also installed a "New Performance header"! In looking at it, I would say that is the case! The top is new and Tom also had the seat covers redone and with Red-Piping! And, while no real body work was required, Tom had the car stripped and repainted the original Alfa Romeo Red color! The tires (all 4) are, for all intents and purposes, brand new with a little over 1000-miles on them! NOTE: Tom did provide me with some receipts showing some of the work that was done....and I still have them and will pass them, and other paperwork he gave me, on to the new buyer! ALSO: Here is the hyper link to Tom's Race Car Shop where you can see other Alfa's (Race Cars) and the quality of what it is that gets done here...all of which, I think, should also be an indication, of the quality of the Alfa I am selling here? http://owa.ojrnr.com/tjr/ NOW: Since I assumed ownership, in May of 2009, I have installed an International Auto Parts Roll Bar as I had intended to AUTO-X (Time-Trials) the car! I also found an ORIGINAL "Brand Spanking New" NARDI Steering wheel wherein I had a MoMo Hub machined and modified so that the NARDI could installed on the Alfa! I also just purchased 4-brand new KONI (YELLOW) fully adjustable sport shocks and Competition Springs which were installed and set up by Blue and White Motors a BMW and Alfa Specialty Shop in Attleboro, MA Paul Spruell MotorSports Racing the PRIMO Alfa Racing Prep Shop and supplier of Alfa Race Parts, custom made an 5/8th's, fully adjustable (5-positions) rear sway bar which has also been installed! WHY am I selling it! basically for the same reason I had to sell the Alfa Spider Race car I sold to Tom! I, unfortunately have developed arthritis in both hips and my lower back, as a result of a very bad car accident back in 1982. The condition is such that the seating position in the Alfa, while under any other circumstances would be perfect, does not work for me at all...wherein, after about an hour (an hour and one-half tops) along with having to shift (IE: Constant use of the clutch) the pain that I develop is unbearable to the point I cannot drive the car! While this situation was really bad in my old Race car, and especially with the pounding you take, I really did not think i would have the same issues with a street Alfa! But I do! That's it...unfortunate, but the plain, honest and simple truth! Lastly, as mentioned, I had hoped to AUTO-X and use this car in Time Trails! As such I also just purchased and had installed a set of "5" MiniLite/PanaSport Style Racing Mags by ROTA (The same wheels being used by Classic MotorSports/GrassRoots Motorsports Magazine on their Project BMW.....I also went with Yokohama Advan 008 Street/Race Tires mounted on the ROTA's as they were the highest rated performance tire in recent magazine road tests!!!! The car is registered, insured and in storage here in Cumberland in my garage. All serious inquiries will be honored and you are more then welcome to come and view and drive the car!
