Here rolls one very fine looking and supremely well maintained 1987 Corvette.
Don’t let the listed actual miles throw you a curve ball. This car has been so lovingly preserved over the years by careful owners that it looks like it has only covered half that distance. Considering of course it averaged out to just 4,000 miles per year, this most probably has only been a sunny afternoon spinner anyway.
The 250 HP 5.7 Liter engine is about as good of a choice as they come. It offers a combination of respectable 19 MPG Highway along with plenty of power and that throaty baritone exhaust. The automatic transmission likewise shifts smoothly through the numbers and we have invoices covering prior preventive and regular maintenance. From the tires up this C4 was well looked after indeed. The previous owner even had the Vin #’s professionally etched on all major glass pieces for added protection.
The Corvette has perhaps the best color combination you will find on this model. The Dark Red Metallic is deep and rich. The paint’s condition is doubtless far superior to most of its fellow 1987 born brothers and sisters. The one piece can be popped off quickly for that open air feel. You can’t tell from the images but these tinted bronze glass units all age and surface scratches and glass markings do appear over time. Not perhaps noticeable from the exterior but look up from the inside and the characteristics are there. Ours is far better than most and Masterpiece Classic Cars is the best by far at accurately representing every car we have on offer. The aluminum wheels are in great condition and the 16” Goodyear Eagle tires have plenty performance tread left on them. This car is an all-around very clean piece.
Taken against the rich dark exterior and tinted bronze glass top, the saddle leather interior looks like the perfect mate. The interior is in likewise very good condition and exhibits a long-term pride of ownership. The Panasonic AM/FM/CD player was a nicely fitted update and sounds great. Flip the A/C switch and the car cools down as it should and in fact all the dials and gauges spin like downtown. The power seat is comfortably adjustable in and the seats and bolsters still provide great support. These cars always offered good line of sight vision angles and with all the power options and conveniences, this one was outfitted to a pretty high standard for its day.
These C 4 Era Corvettes represent some of the best values in the current sports car market. For not a lot of coin you can enjoy a thoroughly modern, reliable , fuel efficient and inexpensive to maintain sports car experience. As long as your other vehicle isn’t a Jeep Wrangler or a motorcycle, it shouldn’t be too much of a bother that every other Corvette owner waves at you.
