1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 Up for auction is a very nice 1965 Mustang Fastback (A-code) with a 289 4 speed manual. I am the second owner of the car with my dad being the second owner. He purchased this car in 1986 from the original owner. The car was restored and placed on the road in 2002. I have pictures and some history of the restoration process. The car has it's original engine which is a 289 8 cylinder and original transmission. The engine runs very strong with approximately 3000 miles since complete rebuild. The engine has an Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock carburetor, headers, and a mild cam. The hood, fenders, doors, trunk lid and valances are all very nice and solid. The floor pans have been replaced on each side. The shock towers, inner fender aprons and front frame rails are also solid and original. There are a few bubbles on the drivers side and passenger side lower doors. The Rangoon red paint is very nice and respectable with a few minor chips. The car has a very nice black standard interior with bucket seats, Rally Pack and fold down rear seat. The trim panels are all very nice with speakers in front side panels(va mustang). The chrome trim and window moldings are all in very nice condition. The glass is all very nice and the original to my knowledge. The car also runs / drives very well with good drum brakes. The tires have very little wear. This A-code fastback is an excellent vehicle that can be driven and enjoyed now. The door tag is still in place and the VIN is stamped on the fender apron.
