Vehicle Detail

1973 (1ST YEAR) OLDS OMEGA, RARE 4-DR. SEDAN VERSION, EXCELLENT SHAPE Up for auction is a classic Olds Omega that I have owned for 10 years. I am the 3rd owner of this vehicle and had the body and engine refurbished about 6 years ago. This refurbishing included fixing small dents and rust spots, complete repainting of original green metallic color (which GM called "moss gold"), removal and rebuilding of engine (new pistons, rods, rings, gaskets, fuel pump, radiator, etc.) and painting of engine. The 33,000 miles on the odometer are accurate (not rolled over to 133,000 or 233,000), as certified by a mechanic and supported by vehicle service and title records. VEHICLE HISTORY TIMELINE 1973: Bought new in Fort Lauderdale, FL; original owner drove car 23,000 miles in 23 years. Car assumed garaged as it was in overall great shape when I found it. 1996: Sold to 2nd owner in Hollywood, FL; driven 5,000 miles in 6 years. 2002: Sold to me in Davie, FL with 28,500 miles on odometer. 2006-2007: Car refurbished (as described above) by a professional mechanic and body technician (and a friend of mine) in NC. At the time I was moving from FL to PA and used the opportunity to drive it up to him for the reconditioning, which occurred at 31,600 miles on the odometer. Upon completion months later, I then drove the spruced-up Omega to my new home in Pittsburgh. 2007-2012: Car garaged at my PA residence and used very sparingly, and NEVER in extreme cold or winter road conditions. This "Florida" vehicle has still never touched snowy roads nor been exposed to road salt. VEHICLE FEATURES/DEFECTS A basic Omega, 4-door sedan (very few Omega sedans to be found out there), hardtop. No A/C or clock. Original standard in-dash AM radio does not work and I was told can't be fixed. Car drives and handles well; suspension is smooth; automatic transmission shifts well. Power steering and power brakes were standard on this car. Brake pads/shoes and tires all replaced less than 5,000 miles ago. Imperfections: car is hard to start when cold; gas pedal needs repeated pumping to activate choke (may need carburetor/choke maintenance). Once started and warmed up, runs like a top and restarts with no problem. No working radio (as mentioned before). Windshield wiper switch works but is very fragile (could break if handled too firmly). At night the dash lights sometimes flicker off, so dash light switch may need replacing. There is one tear on the front bench seat and some age wear on the inside door handles; otherwise the interior is excellent. Exterior has some minor imperfections which have come about in the 6 years since the refurbishing; these include a few tiny scratches and paint bubbles. The only rust to be found is on the tail light bezels (which can be replaced) and in one area inside the trunk well. ADDITIONAL ITEMS INCLUDED WITH VEHICLE Much of the original paperwork associated with this Omega has been preserved and will be included with the vehicle. Some of these items include: original owner's manual; consumer information pamphlet, new vehicle warranty, emission system warranty, and maintenance schedule pamplets; original dealer invoice (to first buyer); original pre-delivery check sheet; and more. See photos. BIDDER INFO (TERMS AND CONDITIONS) Please do not hesitate to ask questions if you are unclear about anything I've mentioned or haven't mentioned. This vehicle is sold "as is" with no warranty expressed, written or implied. I have made every effort to disclose any known defects with the car, and can assume no responsibility for any repairs needed once it is in the buyer's possession. PAY PAL is preferred but other methods of payment may be considered. Methods other than PAY PAL, if agreed upon by me, must clear my bank before the vehicle can leave my property. You must be over 18 years old to bid. Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of end of auction with your name, address, email address, telephone number, and plans for taking possession of the vehicle. Within 48 hours of end of auction, a deposit of $500 is required to secure the vehicle. The buyer then agrees to pay the remaining balance within 7 days. If balance is not paid within 7 days, I reserve the right to relist the vehicle and the deposit will be forfeited. SHIPPING INFO Shipping or delivery costs for this vehicle are the responsibility of the buyer. I will be available to assist with loading the vehicle if you send a shipper to transport it. If you wish to drive the vehicle home, you will need to obtain insurance and a temporary tag before driving it off my property. Or, depending on where you live, I may be able to drive the car to you instead for an agreed-upon cost for time and fuel, as well as your assistance getting me to a bus station or airport to return home. Thank you and happy bidding!
