1965 Triumph Bonneville Competition Model (T120C) This is a superb example of Triumph’s T120C. This model was a factory competition model available through special order at the local dealerships. It came equipped differently than the standard Bonneville models. This particular example has all the correct T120C parts; such as the airbox, VDO speedometer, high pipes, and real Dunlop trials universal tires. This is a matching numbers motorcycle that has a clear Texas title. This bike has been meticulously restored to showroom condition. The T120C was the predecessor to the highly coveted TT special. This bike was supplied to Johnsons’s Motors in California on 2/11/65. Please see the scan from the VMC in England below that has the factory details on this motorcycle. The VMC gets this information directly from the Triumph factory records. This is a real T102C. This bike runs and rides excellent. This Triumph has won best in class, and best in show at various local meets. A lot of time was taken to source the correct parts for this restoration, no corners were cut. David Gaylin's "Triumph in America" book is also highly sought after. New copies sell for $248 on Amazon. "Your statement that the T120C models were the predecessors to the TT Special is not accurate as the (designated) TT Specials were made from the 1963 model-year. However your bike, a T120C Bonneville street scrambler, is much rarer than a TT Special and SIGNIFICANTLY more valuable! TT models are everywhere nowdays (many are fakes) and none can be taken on the road in original specs.
