This 1957 Volkswagen with 7,800 actual miles was in indoor storage for very many years. When it was pulled out of storage, it was found that the engine was damaged. The owner, a well known local VW aficionado / restorer decided to make this his best ever classic beetle. He installed a new old stock original 1200 Volkswagen engine that he owned for decades in its original crate. Next he dis-assembled the whole car and painted every surface in side and out with an epoxy primer and treated the car to an excellent paint job with enamel paint. Every rubber piece was replaced, the fuel system was rebuilt, and the interior was retrimmed. All mechanical items were dis-assembled and replaced to make this car as new. The tires, brakes, suspension, electrical, glass, exhaust, heat exchangers, lights, carburation, interior, locks, clutch, and transmission are like new. The chrome is mostly original or NOS. There was no cheap junk used in this restoration. The only down side to this car is that there are some fine cracks in the steering wheel, the radio is junk, and there is an added on extra fuel filter before the carburetor. Now part of the Rallye Collection, this car has been driven, checked, sorted out and appreciated..
