Vehicle Detail
1966 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible for sale. Runs and drives but needs full restoration. Appears to be complete and numbers matching. NO RESERVE. This car will go to the highest bidder.Relisted due to non-paying bidder. Please don't bid if you can't pay for this car. This car appears to be an original low mileage car. The odometer shows just over 75k miles and from what I can tell by looking it over top and bottom I don't believe that it has rolled over the 100k mark. Although I don't know for sure on the mileage the frame is in great shape and has little to no dirt built up in it and the sheet metal on the underside looks decent. All the inner rockers and inner quarter boxes are in good shape and all steel fuel and brake lines APPEAR to be factory original and holding good pressure. The brakes feel rough when driving although they do stop the car. Passengers front and rear floor pans are intact but are rusted through in spots and need to be replaced. Trunk floor is also rusting through in several places and would need to be replaced. Truck is missing lock and need to be turned with a screwdriver to open trunk. Antennas and stereo missing. All chrome is there and intact but needs to be rechromed. Bumpers need to be straightened and rechromed. The right front fender has a dent in the top of it and some rust behind the front wheel but otherwise is in decent shape. The left front fender has some rust behind the front wheel and some surface rust around the wheel opening but is otherwise decent. The doors are reasonably solid and have a few dings. The rear quarters have typical rust along the bottoms and have a few minor dings and dents. Convertible top needs to be replaced. Here is a link to a youtube video of the car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmPz-hleNXE&feature=plcp This car is overall very solid and would be a great restoration project car. It has several nice factory options. They are: Factory A/C (Compressor and condenser missing) Tilt Steering Column Burgundy Red Leather Upholstery (Seats now have vinyl covers. Back seat still has original Leather under the vinyl cover) Rear Speaker with switch on dash Courtesy Light Package Four Way Emergency Flashers Seat Belts Power Rear Mounted Antenna with switch on dash (Not Working) Power Steering Power Brakes Kelsey Hays 8 Lug Wheels Rear Fender Skirts All stainless is in pretty good shape and should be fine to re-use when car is restored. All glass is also in good shape, no cracks. Convertible top frame is in good shape. It just needs cleaning, light sanding and repainting when top is replaced. The original burgundy naugahyde top well cover is still in decent shape and in place behind the back seat. The power top works fine and the frame seems to fold and operate properly although the convertible canvas is mostly torn off. All top frame joints appear to be tight. This car was originally white with a white top and burgundy interior. The engine runs but does smoke and the rocker arms make noise. I took it to a mechanic and he told me that there was oil in the cylinders and the engine would need to be rebuilt. The transmission seems to work fine. This car was taken off the road and parked in 1998 and was not driven since. THIS CAR STARTS, RUNS, DRIVES, STEERS AND STOPS! ALTHOUGH I WOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE IT ANY DISTANCE. JUST ABOUT ALL LIGHTS INSIDE AND OUT WORK! ELECTRICAL SYSTEM APPEARS TO BE INTACT AND WORKING! ALL SUBSYSTEMS SEEM TO WORK FINE AND THERE ARE NO APPARENT FLUID LEAKS, ALTHOUGH I AM NOT A MECHANIC AND CANNOT VERIFY ANYTHING FOR SURE. PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON A RESTORATION PROJECT, NOT A DRIVER. THIS CAR WILL NEED WORK TO MAKE IT ROADWORTHY. That being said, these cars are worth 15k to 39k restored...see NADA appraised values below. So, may be worth a time and capital investment. I have a clear title from another Virginia and bill of sale. The car was purchased by 2 different owners but the title was never transferred to their names. However, the title information for a new buyer was never filled out so title transfer should not be a problem although it may depend on your state. The car is in Austin, Texas. I have it listed locally so I have the right to cancel the auction if I get a good cash offer. PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE THE MONEY TO PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE. I DON'T DO FINANCING OR ANY TYPES OF TERMS EXCEPT PAYPAL OR CASH IN PERSON. Payment instructions are below. I can assist with shipping although setting that up needs to be set up on your end. You must have a Paypal account to bid on this car.
