Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1982 CJ8 also known as the Jeep Scrambler. 258 4.2 in line 6 cylinder (has all smog equipment and meets U.S.E.P.A. And state of California smog regulations. Shown in pictures below.)T-176 4-speed manual transmissionDana 300 transfer caseDana 44 axles front and rear 32" tiresFull roll cage I acquired this jeep only about 3 months ago. According to the previous owner the jeep sat for nearly a year and a half in his backyard untouched and non-op due to a problem in the steering column linkage that connects the key cylinder to the ignition switch. Once I got the jeep home I found a used but complete steering column on Craigslist that I bought and installed on the jeep. After the repair the jeep started right up and I was able to drive it around the neighborhood. It has a really hard time staying running at idle speed and leaks a lot of oil from what looks to be near the rear main engine seal. The frame and tub is in excellent condition with zero rust anywhere. It's still showing the original paint that is clearly in very poor condition, but on the positive side it's easy to see its not a bondo bucket. All the electrical seems to work fine and all the wires are still soft with minimal corrosion between connections. The jeep is being sold as seen in the pictures. I do not have a top for it, but I have quite a bit of mounting hardware for a soft top, although I'm not sure if its complete. The jeep has a California title that is clean and clear with no back fees. I was very excited to get this jeep as I have always wanted one, but with all the moving I have done over the last few years I no longer have any tools to make this jeep what I want, and it makes no since to spend more money on tools than It would to build it my way. If you decide to bid on this jeep you will not be disappointed. I will answer any questions you have honestly as I have nothing to hide. At end of auction I will require a $500 non refundable deposit via pay-pal and remaining balance within 7 days (final payment to be discussed and agreed upon before release of the jeep). I will assist in anyway that I can to insure a quick and safe pick up. If you choose to have it shipped and delivered to you, I will assist with that, but all on your dime.
