Description of item: 1993 SAAB 900S New Virginia State Inspection (Good thru August of 2013) Brand New NOVUS Windshield with Lifetime Warranty New Front and Near New Rear tires The Sunroof works Great 25 + miles per gallon Engine runs quiet and strong This car was always a smoke free zone This car burns almost no oil between changes The Ignition Key Cylinder was replaced and works perfectly The car has not been wrecked and the body is straight and strong Very Decent Pioneer Stereo/CD player six speaker audio system If you know SAAB’s, you know mileage is irrelevant, with proper preventive maintenance up to 300 K miles or MORE!! The following is the list of issues I have noted. This car was my daily driver for many years 80+ trouble free hi-way miles a day!! J · The headliner and cardboard backing was removed since it was drooping. Before I could replace the headliner, our cat decided to camp out on it and broke the cardboard… · The dashboard has sun cracks in it common to all SAAB 900’s. · The driver seat belt RED release push plate is missing - still works. · The rear ashtray stays in place but is missing the stay when open. · The Cruise is intermittent. Only works with the cabin heated. This is a Classic SAAB problem. A used replacement (later year) Cruise Module will fix it. 30 to 50 dollars on Ebay. Again, I didn’t use it except on trips. · The Electric Door Locks, Electric Trunk opener, Seat Heaters and Headlight Wipers have been disabled. They most likely work if connected. · The AC is old school R-12 and needs to be converted to the R134A. It has never worked. Can be converted for around 150 bucks if you are handy. Kits are available. · Front seat bottoms have threads ripped loose, needs re-sewing with bottom seat cover removed. Not my thing. New Seat Covers would be the best quick fix. · I fixed a rust area on the left front fender and painted it with matching SAAB Green. That was the only rust thru on the car. I am not a body repair expert. It was a functional repair. There are some dings, nicks, scratches, small dents, and some rust on the car. · Right Rear (I think) wheel has intermittent squeal/whine at low speeds. Wheel spins smooth and quiet when jacked up. Hub never heats up. Must be brake noise related. Has never presented a problem. · The transmission has a small leak that needs checking every so often – top with Castrol 10W-40 to maintain full mark. There have been several common items replaced thru the years but basically, this car always starts and gets you from point A to point B.
