Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1997 SAAB 900s Convertible. It has 128,000 miles and was my daily driver until I bought another car last summer. It runs great and will be a fun car for a lucky new owner. I'm selling the car because I'm not using it. The good: * It runs great and has been reliable * Newer tires * Looks good * No rust * Gets 29 mpg on the average The Bad: (well, there's nothing "bad" but, there are a few minor things that can be fixed/ adjusted) * It's in great shape for a 1997, but it isn't perfect * It needs a new sending unit for the gas gauge. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It also has a digital gas gauge above the radio that is accurate. I just watch the digital gauge. I was told the sending unit was about $150 to fix at my local shop * You'll probably want to fix the speedometer. Sometimes it shows the right speed. But, usually it doesn't. I'm not sure exactly what it needs, since I never bothered with trying to fix it. I just used the speedometer readout on my GPS, and never had any problems. The odometer works accurately. * The temperature gauge sending unit needs to be replaced. $130 at my local shop. * The top motors open and close fine, but the top/ hard boot needs to be adjusted. It needs a nudge when opening to store the top. And, the computer says that the top is unlatched after you close it. It doesn't show that message when the top is open. * The top will need to be replaced eventually. Sometimes it leaks after a hard rain. * One of the flaps on the tonneau boot broke off (driver's side). You can only see it when the top is down. * The interior is in generally good shape. There is a rubbed area on on the driver's seat leather from my getting into/ out of the car. * The spring in the ignition switch does not spring back to the "run" position. You have to turn the key yourself. I stopped driving it last year and it has an expired inspection sticker. Getting it inspected shouldn't be an issue. Keep in mind that this is a 15 year old car and is being sold as-is and where-is. Buyer understands I make the above representations to the best of my belief. I have described it accurately to the best of my knowledge. If you would like more pictures or description of any area please contact me while the auction is running. A PayPal deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The remainder must be paid within 3 business days of auction end. I will store the vehicle for a reasonable time while you arrange the transport. I will accept the remaining balance as cash in hand or a cashier's check/ money order if sent in time to be deposited before pickup.
