Vehicle Detail

Reluctantly, up for sale is my 1973 Triumph TR-6. I have owned it since 1988 and drove it regularly until about 1998. It was in great shape and was always garaged until I moved to a new house in 1998 and didn't have a garage to store it in. So, it has basically been parked outside since 1998 at my parent's farm in Southern Virginia with a cover on it. I brought the car home in 2005 with big plans to restore it to it's former glory. But, a change of plans has given me new priorities. I've finally decided to let the car go. This is a project car. And, you will definitely need to trailer it home. But, the good news is that it's all there. It's just been sitting for a long time. The brakes work, it rolls freely and the engine moves by hand. But, I have not tried to start it. I expect that she'll start right up with a fresh battery and a little bit of work - but please don't ask me to try to start it. The paint started peeling many years back, but the body is generally solid. There is the usual corrosion under the battery and some under the rocker panels. There is also some rust in the floors that I covered in fiberglass years ago. I do not know where the keys are, but the doors, trunk, and ignition are unlocked. It will need a new steering lock/ ignition switch (part #667-850 at Moss Motors $179), but can run without it. That is an easy fix. The title is clear and in hand. Keep in mind that this is a 39 year old car and is being sold as-is and where-is. Buyer understands I make the above representations to the best of my belief. Once again you cannot drive this vehicle away but I have described it accurately to the best of myknowledge. If you would like more pictures or description of any area please contact me while the auction is running. I also have a mostly complete 1969 TR-6 (no title) parts car that you are welcome to have (free) if you win the auction. It ran before I started taking parts off of it years ago, and still has the engine, drive train, and many hard to find parts intact. The parts car is at my parent's farm in Brunswick County, VA. - about 45 minutes from where I live. If you want the parts car, I can help you get it. A PayPal deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The remainder must be paid within 3 business days of auction end. I will store the vehicle for a reasonable time while you arrange the transport. I will accept the remaining balance as cash in hand or a cashier's check/ money order if sent in time to be deposited before pickup.
