My name is Arlo Cota and I am the owner of Imported Car Center located in Williston, Vermont. I have been in business for 40 years and have been a Peugeot dealer for most of that time. I am a Peugeot master technician. I have loved these cars for many years. The car you are bidding on was a car owned by one of my former customer’s mother. She lived in Virginia and in the early 90s she bequeathed the car to her son. The car is a 1987 Peugeot 505 STI with 41,619 miles on it. He then returned here to have the car serviced and stored it in a dry barn. The car looked like it was new. During the 17 years while he was driving his Peugeot Turbo station wagon he kept the Peugeot STI in the dry barn. Unfortunately, he came down with a brain tumor and passed away before he could sell STI to me. I ended up buying the car from the estate and refurbished it on my own. I redid the fuel system by replacing the fuel pump and filter. I then replaced the belts, air cleaner, battery, tires, and serviced the brakes and exercised the calipers. I changed all of the fluids and charged the air-conditioning. I then had a state inspection and check operation of all the controls. Everything worked perfectly including the sunroof. Ironically, the sunroof worked better than most new ones did. The interior leather is as soft as new and the side moldings which have chrome insert are perfect. There are no dents or chips and we buffed and clay barred the paint. The only flaw is the paint around the gas filler which has hazing. Along with this, the cruise control doesn’t work because the speedometer cable does not have the cruise control sensor. The car has a 2.2 all aluminum fuel-injected engine. It has a four speed overdrive German ZF4 HP 22 transmission. These are popular Peugeots due to their mostly trouble-free nature. It will be sold with a bill of sale. However, there are no titles for cars in the state of Vermont that are over 15 years old which can be a problem in other states. I can give a current registration if your state requires that for titling. There would be an additional charge of about $200.00 to do this. In addition I can provide a 30 day transit plate if needed from my car dealership. Currently, this is my sixth Peugeot 505 that I own. I also have two of the original factory Turbo racecars that campaigned in the Firestone Fire Hawk Endurance series. We still campaign the turbos in the New England hill climb series.
