VERY RARE 1974 AMC AMX Javelin. They only made 4,980 AMX Javelin Models, So this is quite the collectors item. The car runs good, But I wouldn't trust driving it over long distances. This car has been semi restored by a previous owner which is far from perfect, and has some minor issues as mentioned below. I Would consider it a project vehicle. I've only owned the vehicle for about 4 months and done a little bit of work to it such as replacing the water pump and installing new Thrush "Welded" mufflers. Keep in mind I'm not a mechanic or expert on old muscle cars, so ask questions before bidding. I'll try my best to describe it in full detail. You can email if you would like to look over the vehicle in person. The Interior: In good condition. Has few minor things such as cracks in plastic, scratches in plastic, and some interior parts dont align up properly. The Exterior Color is blue. Not factory paint, which has had previous body work such as body filler. Has cracks, chips, bubbling and running of paint. The paint job is not perfect. Has very little visible exterior rust on the car. Has surface rust on the rockers under the doors. (Only visible by looking under the car) Has some rust in the rear wheel wells and a little in the front. Does have surface rust on the underneath of the car, No rotting holes or anything. Has a dent in the front chrome bumper, along with a cracked bottom spoiler. The drivers side mirror has alot of little chips in the chrome. Also the chrome trim has been removed around the wheel wells. The Powertrain: Its a 304 V8 engine RWD posi traction, 3 speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter. The shifter does need work. See below for details. The clutch engages normal. No oil leaks with the motor. No information about the rear end. I also do not know if the engine and transmission are stock. -Chrome engine parts such as Edlebrock rocker covers and air filter cover. -Four Barrel Edlebrock carb. -Flamethower coil. Misc: -Seatbelts work, original seats, original everything interior besides speakers and such. -Has Power steering, Power brakes. -Whole car was rewired with a newer style blade fuse box which is located in the glove box. - Has had all new floor pans put in in the pas 5 or 6 years. -Has aftermarket RARE magnum 500 Black on black wheels. -Comes with front spoiler, 74 AMX's did not come stock with this. Here is a list of known issues with the car: -It has a newer Stewart Warner meter cluster in the dash, however they are not working because they are not hooked up properly. Manufacturer's Part#: 82247. The gauges are Speedometer, Tachometer, Volts, Coolant Temp, Oil Pressure, and Fuel Tank Gauge. -Front defrost fan and back defog fan work, But only on one blowing speed. Missing parts for the heater control. -Some improper wiring of Turn signals, brake, tail lights, and hazzards -Exhause not full system, Mufflers only go 18 inches off the headers. Hang low. -Not sure if the heater core is good or bad, but is not hooked up. -Has no working Horn, dome light, Heat, AC or window washing sprayers. -Power steering pump cap is cracked. Leaks occasionally. -Oil Dip stick tube needs replaced -Needs Parking brake cable -No spare tire or jack -Needs new trunk seal rubber -The bolt that holds the actual shifter in place is stripped, therfore sometimes it comes loose and gets stuck in gear, or the linkage comes loose. It will require fixing or retapping the threads.
