Here i am selling a 1984 Mercedes 300TD station-wagon . The 123 series wagon is considered by many the last of the over engineered "life-time" cars . They have a reputation of being the most durable high quality and reliable cars Mercedes built . There are many cars with this engine of the same vintage here on Ebay with 400k-500k miles and still running well . If you keep maintaining this kind of car well , it really can last you a lifetime . This particular 28 year old car has only 142k miles , which is actually considered low mileage for this Mercedes . It was finished in midnight blue ( MB color code 904 " dunkelblau" ) with palomino color MB-tex interior . The body is in nice shape with no dings or dents on it and the paint still shines like on a much newer car . This is a original CA car and it still even has the original blue license plates from 1984 . It has always been here in CA and was never exposed to cold winter climates . The interior is in good condition as well , as the many pictures will show . There are no rips or tears in the seats . The dashboard only has one small hairline crack by the right side speaker panel . The wood is still very nice and the carpets are clean . Please look at the many pictures i posted , they can describe the car much better than i can . The best thing about this gorgeous 28 year old car is the way it drives . It has always been maintained very well and it shows . Just last month both rear driveshaft axles were replaced. Also the air shocks for the self leveling suspension ( SLS) are new . The fluids and filters were changed and a new hood insulation was installed . The original radio still works fine , but the power antenna sometimes gets stuck . There are only 142k miles on it and the car runs accordingly . It always starts up right away and it has plenty of power . With the turbo charger it is not slow at all . It cruises comfortably at 90 miles an hour while still getting 27 miles per gallon of diesel . This car is also a perfect candidate for a Biodiesel conversion . This way you could drive it on vegetable oil or even free waste oil from restaurants . I have never tried it , but with the prices for gasoline where they are today , it sounds like a great idea. This wonderful wagon would make a great reliable car for somebody who drives a lot for many years to come . It would also make a solid and practical investment . Prices for the 123 series wagons have been going up in recent years and should continue to do so .
