This is an authentic 1977 "Champagne Edition" Beetle Convertible. Approximently 1,000 where sold in the US for 1977. This car stopped running in 1990 due to fuel injector issues (common problem with these car). In 2005 the car underwent a complete body off frame restoration by a VW expert in Georgetown, MA. I have a detailed description of all the work done but it's to long to list here. I will email the details if you're interested. In short, the fuel injection system was replaced by a more reliable carburator set-up. Every nut and bolt has been restored! Original 1600cc motor was rebuilt. New shocks, struts, brakes (including from discs), master cylinder, floor pans, electic fuel pump, heater box, alternator, pullies, starter, electronic ignition, tires, convertible top, headliner, seats, paint, bumpers, etc. Eighty percent of the parts use on this car are VW - OEM parts! 100% Rust Free !!! Only 5,145 miles since restoration. Added features include - High Wattage H-4 Headlights AM/FM Stereo Cassette, 12 disc CD Changer Heated Front Seats. Car-Lashes (stick on) Motorized Wind-up Key. Turns as you drive ! Car comes with the original tag light assembly. Issues - Needs Alignment Emergency Brake need adjustment Slight oil leak, probably a filter seal I gave this car to my wife for her birthday in 2007.
