Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Re-listing due to buyer backing out. 1978 Convertible Volkswagen Beetle. One too many cars at the house. Car runs well, this is my daily driver. This car is a conversation piece and in great shape for its age. Odometer has around 123,000 miles on it. I replaced the 1978 fuel injected engine with a carbureted one around 10,000 miles ago. New rings and sleeves at 112,000 miles. Engine leaks a small amount of oil but doesn’t burn any. Paint is good a small chip on the front fender. Some small surface rust around the door hinges. Floor pans were replaced with fiberglass ones. Top is in good shape. A small ½” cut on one spot but has not gotten any bigger in years. Tires are in good shape, decent tread left. New running boards and lower bushings. I change the oil every 3,000 miles. New points and rotor. Valves adjusted. Gets around 24 mpg. I have an AM/FM cassette radio and some speakers in it I had in the garage. Easily removable if you want to have the one speaker that originally came with the car. Front seats upholstery is in great condition. Rear bench seat needs to be reupholstered. Heater does not work. Heater boxes are good, no rust, but I do not have the cables hooked up. The car has been repainted. I left it the original white. Here is all the other stuff that I can think of with the car: - Horn does not work - rear defogger does not work (light in the switch comes on but window does not defog) - Driver seat lever does not work that leans the seat forward to get in the back seat (manually have to lift the catch in back of the seat, cable is broken I guess) - interior light does not work - seat belt retract springs are weak (They will lock going forward) I replaced the clutch plate when I pulled the engine to put new rings and cylinder jugs on it.
