This was a project car that I purchased to rebuild. It is a beautiful vehicle, but Range Rovers are a challenge. It has 179,444 miles. I bought it for $4,000.00 3 years ago, put in approximately $6,000.00 and still not completely ready for daily driving. I installed all of the following new parts:New wheel bearing hubs, all 4 cornersRemoved EAS airbag suspension and installed new coil spring suspension systemNew exhaust system from the manifolds all the way back. New Goodyear Fuelmax Assurance CS Tires P255/55R18New AlternatorBattery is now 2 yrs oldNew head gasket, valve seals, rebuilt top half of engine If you know about Range Rovers of this vintage, you'll recognize that the following items are very typical:She will start with the EKA. I have two key fobs. The electronic parts of them no longer function, so it does not send the signal to the computer and allow it to start. I honestly believe that with a new electronic key fob (approx $250.00 from dealer) she will fire right up.One or more of the three servo motors that control the flapper doors does not function. This prevents air conditioning from being distributed properly. You feel cold air, but it doesn't blow out the right path.The oil light keeps coming on. I've changed the pressure sensor and cleaned the engine, but it keeps coming back, even when sump is full.Heated seats do not operateRadio and CD player do not function. I have the code, but the display is not working to enter it. When it worked, it rocked. You can get the core rebuilt for about $169.00.Rearview mirror powered dim function does not operateDriver side seat belt stem has a damaged housing, but the seatbelt does click in when you engage it correctly.There is a pretty steady oil leak. Dealer told me rear main seal. Very typical for this age.I never got around to rebuilding the brakes. One back wheel caliper drags.It appears that the vehicle had some impact damage to the rear bumper. Tailgate opens and closes easily, but scrapes on black plastic molding.Missing half of the rear brush guardsI will gladly include my shop manual with all of the notes and receipts for everything I did and planned to do.This vehicle is sold as-is, where is and no warranty. If you are rebuilding a similar Rover, this may be a good solution for parts. The exhaust and tires alone are worth what I need for it.I need to sell it because I am moving to an apartment and will no longer have the garage space to tinker and get her running.It will start, but only with the EKA.
