Vehicle Detail
1987 Mustang GT 5.0 - 5 speed convertible. This is an easy restoration project car. The good - This is a Rust Free West Texas car, been in climate controlled storage since 1998 when it was last registered. It was parked when the owner transferred to a new work location. The engine was a rebuilt unit from AutoZone < 10k miles ago according to the previous owner. It has BBK headers, otherwise believed to be relatively stock.Car has 3:73 gears and subframe connectors.New brakes on all 4 corners before it was parked. The power top works as it should. The not so good - Back in the '80's somebody installed a Clifford alarm and an aftermarket stereo. They were electrical butchers. We tore over 10 pounds of wiring out, they had done a horrible hack job. They also shaved the trunk-lid for a remote only release. It is a mess, they did a crappy job. The trunk lid needs replaced, it does not appear original to the car as it is the one and only place there is any rust - under the rear lip edge - odd as the rest of the car is super clean as far as any corrosion anywhere on or under the car. The top is dry-rotted and needs replaced, the rear window is there but the top is too deteriorated to hold it in place - sun of the desert SW.The interior needs completely re-done. The full interior is there, but the upholstery, etc is thrashed and there is no carpet in the car. The interior is all there, it had been stripped out and is now setting on the back seat and in the trunk. The front driver's parking light is out and he paint is worn off the bumper cover there, although thankfully the original bumper cover is not damaged. The car ran great when it was last out over nearly a decade and a half ago. We had it up and running, and then it has suddenly died just after a fill up with fresh gas 2 miles in to its new life. Turns over, but does not fire. Probably something simple - maybe even just the fuel filter, but franky do not want to invest the time in looking in to it as it is likely a restoration project that will be fully torn down and rebuilt anyway. Radiator had a leak, an aluminum replacement unit is included with the sale. Shipping costs and arrangements the responsibility of the buyer. It is not running at the moment, plan to trailer it. 500 dollar deposit due immediately, full balance within 3 Days of the end of the Auction. Not many complete and clean body Fox 5.0's left out there. Here is your chance to get in to a solid project car cheap. Take you back in time - "Rollin in my 5.0, Ice-Ice baby."
