This was the break-out supercar for Lotus in the early 1970s, with a fuel-efficient 2 liter engine, tubular center racing frame, and super-light fiberglass body. This car was my daily driver until a couple of years ago, and I had it running perfectly, with stripping the paint my next project. Then it needed a valve job. I took the engine out and pulled the head to rebuild it, and stopped there; I considered converting it to an electric car since the fiberglass body is so light, around 2,000 lb. Now, with too many projects, it's time to let it go. It has a smooth-shifting automatic transmission, all the glass and body panels are intact, and I replaced the tires less than 1,000 miles ago. It is complete except for a few odds and ends, such as the interior switches, and the brake master cylinder. The cylinder head requires a rebuild but has no major issues. The engine block is sound, with good compression in all 4 cylinders. The interior is worn, and while it met my low standards, another owner would probably consider reupholstery!
