Vehicle Detail
This is a wonderful car. 2 owners since new and in extremely nice condition. Purchased new on September 11th, 1965 at Guaranty Chevrolet-Oldsmobile in Junction City Oregon and spent it's entire life within 30 miles of that dealership until becoming a member of my collection here in Portland Oregon. I have all original documentation including the purchase order, owners manual, Protect-O-Plate and accessories booklet. Even the vintage license plates are day-one original issue in MINT condition. 100,735 actual miles. One, correct color, closed-door repaint was performed 20 years ago. The car is rock solid. Even the undersides are gorgeous. Body and paint are very nice. The interior is near perfect and the numbers matching drivetrain is excellent. Even if I didn't type another word you'd be able to form a clear impression for yourself within the first few photos. For those that prefer a more long-winded description and write-up, here they are: As I just mentioned, the body and paint are very nice. The original owner had her repainted in the factory color about 20 years ago. Not to Concourse level but a good job was performed at that time. The car is very straight and the paint has a good shine and luster. My explorations of the car have discovered no abuses of bondo or other body fillers. A handful of minor blemishes can be found on very close inspection in the form of tiny stone chips, etc, but the car shows and presents itself extremely well. All chrome, both bumpers and stainless exterior moldings are in excellent original condition. The rear bumper had minor imperfections so it was re-plated and appears as new. The front bumper is original and remains in excellent shape. The grille, emblems, lenses and chrome light bezels are in impressive condition as well. All glass is crystal clear. The front windshield has one bulls-eye rock chip down low (photo provided). Looking at the car is like stepping back to 1965. With the exception of radial tires, she appears exactly as she did 47 years ago. Compliments are non-stop every time I take her out by both car enthusiast's and regular pedestrians just passing by and commenting on how unique and beautiful she is. They are correct. She is very rare and unique and in amazing condition. The interior requires no written description. It is in near mint original condition and supports the gentle life this car has always had. The seats, headliner, door panels, entire dashboard, cargo area and original rubber floor matting are all excellent. Every knob, switch and lever operates correctly. All lights (even the back-up's) wipers, heater, gauges, and the original AM radio are functioning properly. The photos will finish the story. The original 283-V8 is running strong. She always starts easily and performs well. To my knowledge, nothing has ever been done other than regular maintenance and service. There is very slight oil consumption between changes and very small fluid drips can be found on my garage floor but the motor runs smoothly with NO ticks, misses or noises of any kind. The powerglide transmission shifts perfectly. Brakes, steering and suspension are tight and sound. I just had a full dual exhaust system installed. She sounds amazing. The car drives and handles wonderfully. There are no squeaks, pulls, rattles or vibrations of any kind. This car defines driver-worthy and can driven without concern. Truly "turn-key". I will make a few brief comments under some of the upcoming photos. All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable over the years as I've sold members of my collection. I'm grateful for the kind words and compliments I've received. My opinions have guided me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and observations and they may differ from your own. I welcome showing my Wagon in person to anyone with genuine interest. I live very near the Portland Oregon Airport and would gladly pick you up. Each photo shows the Chevelle clearly and accurately. It is my intention to make this as close to you seeing and touching the car for yourself as possible. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My number is 503-887-1231 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 5 days and is scheduled to end on Tuesday evening, the 25th of September at 8PM Pacific. I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and the car becomes no longer available. *Everyone, especially if you are outside of the U.S. or Canada or you have a low (0) eBay rating, PLEASE SEE MY TERMS OF SALE provided below the last photo.* PLEASE, read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a reasonable and kindhearted person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way. NO RESERVE AUCTION I did not set a reserve price on my Chevelle. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. I took every picture you're about to see the same day I started this auction. No photo has been altered or enhanced in any way. This is my Wagon and these pictures are true to her in-person appearance. Thanks for your time, DAVE Even the steering wheel is excellent. Although the engine compartment has always been nice, a good friend of mine cleaned up the engine bay and added the optional chrome Chevrolet valve covers as a finishing touch. Very impressive under the hood. In the fast lane at 65mph the day before I took all of these photos. Even the entire roof-line is specatcular. Tailgate is mint. Yes, the spare tire well is rock-solid. There are a handful of very tiny blisters isolated only at the bottom edge of the passenger doors. All smaller than a #2 pencil eraser and only visible on extremely close inspection. Again, there are very few and they are tiny and have remained unchanged for over 15 years. The car is rust-free and exceptionally solid. The lower areas and rocker panels are excellent and the bottom of the rear quarter panels are outstanding. All 4 hubcaps are mint. Door rubbers and window felts are excellent. The factory padded dash is mint. The cargo area looks like new. Headliner is perfect. Odometer just rolled over. Total miles are 100,735. Drives like glass on the freeway. The original AM radio tunes stations and plays perfectly. The factory rubber floor matting shows light wear but impressive for original and does not need to be replaced. Rock solid. The inner fenders and firewall still wear 100% of their factory applied paint. The undersides are incredible. Nothing under here has been repainted. Light pressure washing exposed what was already obvious. MINT floors and undercarriage. NEVER undercoated. Just smooth original undersides. What us car collectors pray to find. Original, gorgeous floors. Not even any surface rust-scale. Smooth to the touch. Never found like this anymore. Garage kept her whole life and these are the results. Backsides of quarters are also gorgeous. This is the original gas tank. Just amazing. Those are original assembly line markings on the firewall. Yup, the glovebox light works. Original manual, etc. Day-one purchase agreement. $2687.00 I'm thinning my collection and this is one of the more difficult cars to say goodbye to. She's such a sweatheart and so unique, original and documented. Whether you have a soft spot for vintage Wagon's or you're a Chevelle fan, this car deserves to be appreciated on multiple levels. An absolute joy to own. Thanks again- Terms of Sale: 47yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS: Please read and agree with the following: I have described my Chevelle honestly and to the best of my ability based on 25 years of owning and driving classic vehicles. I have 100% faith in the drivability of my Wagon and to my knowledge everything is in excellent working order per my written description above. I have the free and clear Oregon title in my possession. I would drive her anywhere but she is 47 years old and routine service and repairs should be expected. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see her for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My number is 503-887-1231. -PAYMENT TERMS- A $1000.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction ending preferably through PayPal just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements just let me know BEFORE you bid and I'll try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland for over 8 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. The remaining balance is due in-full within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds. Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending. TRANSPORT - SHIPPING I am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form and other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I personally use a privately owned trucking company. They have handled the movements of my collection and all of my transport needs perfectly for the last 4 years with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. I will provide contact info at your request. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them were just fine. My location zip code is 97214. Coast-to-Coast transport is around $1400.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange. I will stay involved throughout this entire process and help in any way possible. If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me BEFORE bidding. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids for these reasons. Communication is all I ask. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD.
