Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1964 Chevelle Malibu...purchased this car with the intent to make it a quality driver, and just no longer have the time or resources to see it to completion. Below is an accurate of a description of the car. I do have a clear PA title on the vehicle. Please contact me with questions... - I have not checked numbers, but I assume the drivetrain is original, it is a 2-speed powerglide with a 283 2-V engine. Engine starts and runs well, has a GM HEI ignition, noticed a slight leak at rear of the intake where it mates to the cylinder head on passenger side the last few times it was started. Transmission slips/takes time to go into gear, and it appears there is coolant in it, so it will obviously need to be rebuilt. The car has been in my garage for the past 7 years, and has only been started to run it back and forth from driveway to garage while I have been restoring it. - Body is in primer obviously. Original color is Burgundy. Car originally had Impala side trim, which was pretty unusable. Trim holes have been filled on drivers side door, and both quarters, but not yet on passenger door or front fenders. As far as I can tell, there is very little patch work done on car, possibly a little on rear quarters but body is very solid and straight on the car. Lower front fenders will need a little TLC, as they are not available in repro. Previous owner patched lower rear of fenders, but did not do quality work, you will see in pictures I have purchased new fender patches to be installed. Long story short, fenders need patches applied, body holes need to be filled, and car needs to be block sanded and it is ready for paint. -Interior has been completely restored/replaced. Steering wheel restored, no cracks...new door panels, upholstery, carpet, badges, dash bezel, pedal pads, e-brake handle, etc...looks VERY nice. Only thing left to finish interior wise would be a new headliner (4" tear on passenger side) and sail panels need installed. - Car has been mostly restored from fenders forward as you can see in the pictures. New fuel pump, master cylinder cap, oil cap, regulator, washer fluid tank, battery cables, hose clamps, radiator clamp, and on and on... Almost every item and every nut and bolt is new. Used stainless wherever possible on all bolts, including new stainless transmission to radiator lines. All new hoses. Where I couldn't use stainless I used clearcoat to prevent any rusting of bolts, etc... -Inner fenders aren't shown in pictures but are with the car, one has been cleaned up and coated with POR-15, the other still needs restored. -Exhaust downtubes restored, with new pipes/ muffler from downtubes back. - Trunk floor has been completely replaced. - Floor are pretty solid, some minor rust at front floors below firewall area. - Wheels are restored with new caps/trim rings, and new Firestone Indy tires. - Bumpers are new Goodmark units. Front is still in box (pictured) -Bumper brackets, hood springs, latches, headlight bucket brackets, etc.. all restored, just not yet installed (see pictures) - New Quarter emblems, fender badges, and mirrors included, still in packaging (see pictures). The car is not an SS, but I do have Malibu SS badges for the quarters and rear decklid. - Front and rear glass is new -All trim, windshield mouldings, etc... has been retained and is included. I have done my best to accurately describe the condition of the car without leaving anything out. Again, please email me with any questions. I have done all of the tedious detail work. Body needs to be completed and painted, tranny rebuilt, and car reassembled to have yourself a VERY nice driver! I will not ship the car, must be picked up by you within 7 days of the auction ending. Deposit due within 48 hours, Cash only at pickup for remainder of balance. Thanks!
