Vehicle Detail
This 1985 F150 XL 302 V8 Explorer has been well maintained and is in excellent condition. There are only 58,000 original miles. The engine block still has the original grey paint. The body has no major dents or damage. The original bed cover, also in near mint condition will need new lift pistons. I'm no mechanic but I believe the front gas tank fuel pump may need to be replaced. Once in a while it gives me a problem. I use the rear tank which works fine. The rear tank needs a new float installed. I will include a new float in this auction (float not installed). The 7' bed is in great condition with no major dents and no rust. The engine on this Explorer is "All There"! Nothing has been removed or changed from its original state. The interior is again in excellent condition. The driver side door panel is sun bleached and dry but a replacement is available on line. The seat has no rips or burn marks. The dash has no cracks or damage. The carpet is almost like new. This truck is ready for work or with just a few touch-ups it could become a collectors item! This was the last year the F 150 was called the "Explorer". About the only thing not original on this truck are the wheels. All questions welcome! Note: I received an email with question and forgot to post in the add. Is the paint original? Can I drive it 900 miles? Is there any rust? What is the closest airport? The paint is original. I would drive this truck to Cali and back! No rust, just the usual small rock dings found on a vehicle from 1985. Nashville would be the closest airport. I will post all questions from now on.
