Vehicle Detail

1962 MGA MKII. Correct 1622 engine, runs well, does use oil. Clutch hydraulics need some work, so I have not driven it lately. Last registered in 1997. Been inside pretty much ever since. I had it stored in Calif until 2007, then I hauled it Ohio and its been inside and covered since. Not a perfect body, does have some surface rust.Battery trays are still quite usable, they are not rusted into oblivion as some are. The trunk floor does have some surface rust. I've owned it since 94 or so and used to work on it for the previous owner for 10 years before that. Pretty much everything is stock, not much has ever been modified. Front sheet metal is very good, only one 6" ding in the right rear fender. I haven't detected ANY bondo anywhere on the car. I'm sure everything needs attention in one form or another, but this is an excellant platform to start with. Trans works fine, I'm sure the synchros need replacing, but I do not recall and noisiness from it. Nor from the rear end. Car comes with a rather long list of NEW spare parts, and a shorter list of used parts. I will include almost everything I own in the way of MGA parts with this car. Stay tuned while I update everyday. I have dial-up internet, so things take a good long while, plus the ebay system kicks me off every once in a while and I lose whatever I have been working on. In the meantime, please ask ANY and ALL questions you may have. Most questions I will post for all to see, some I with-hold as I see fit. Car can be inspected any day or evening except Wednesday morning and early afternoon. I have a floor jack available for you to use, along witjh a creeper. I do have drop lights. Bring your own flashlight. On Sep-10-12 at 06:49:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is the list of NEW PARTS that come with the car. Most of these are original British made parts, not the chinese repro stuff. There are a few items from moss that may be repro, but not many. Most are factory, made in England. 4 inlet valves, 4 exhaust valves, 1 headlite dimmer switch, 1 oil filter, 4 side cover gaskets, 2 rubber, 2 cork, 4 valve cover grommets, 1 rocker shaft, 1 rear exhaust hanger, 2 differential gaskets, 1 windwind set, 1 front brake pads, 1 switch knob1 light switch, 1 front light clear lens, 2 rubber seals headlite to body, 2 lower trunnion assemblies with washers, 8 lower A arm bushings, 2 motor mounts, 1 left, 1 right, 1 taillitelensred, 1 oil pump, 5 rubber front suspension seals, 1 rubber seal under windshield, 1 timing chain tensioner, 1 water heater valve, 1 timing chain, 4 rubber sealsfloat bowl to carb, 2 headlight pigtails, 2 steering rack gaiters, 2 water hoses, 1 taillight lens red, 1 trans rear seal, 1 gearshift boot, 8 rocker shaft bushings, 1 manifold gasket, 2 exhaust brackets, 1 3 prong flasher, 2 seatbelts, 1 rebuilt clutch/brake master cylinder. The folowing items are USED and come with the car, 2 taillite bases with sockets, 1 siz bladed fan, 1 oil pressure/temp gauge complete, 1 BMCAM radio in unknown condition, 1 cam timing gear, 1 starter switch. Thanks for your patience and your bids. I hate to sell this car as I most likely will not get another. The MGA has always been my favorite of the LBC's. The styling is superb, plenty of legroom, nice power band, and of course very predictable handling. On Sep-10-12 at 17:17:05 PDT, seller added the following information: If there are any specific pics that bidders would like to have me post, just say so and I'll do my best to get them up. A few other items I would like to list that come with the car are as follows: 1 new wood top bow, original jack and handles, original hand crank, one pair of older side curtains with aluminum frames, 2 rubber floor mats, one has a short tear but is quite usable. The battery cover panel is also included. Drivers seat has several rips at the seams, passenger side seat is pretty good yet. The original steering wheel needs to be replaced as the plastic around the outside is in rather sad shape and has very sharp slivers. I taped it some time ago to keep from slicing my hands. Right front tire has a slow leak, the others seem to hold air for very long periods. The top assembly is complete and is folded into the space above the parcel shelf where it belongs. There is no top on the car at this time but all pieces are there. Again, thanks for looking. I'm not sure I mentioned this but I also have a complete red interior kit including side panels, seats kits and carpets, they do NOT come with the car but will be offered to the buyerat time of sale. If the buyer does not want them, I will list them on ebay. The car was originally the beautiful powder blue, so a red interior may not go well with that color if the new owner is to keep it original, that is wht I am not listing them with the car.
