Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1950 Willys Jeepster VJ rear-wheel drive. This style was produced from 1949 thru 1951. Many modifications have been made to this vehicle to make it more “road worthy” with today’s roadways & traffic conditions. The engine is an 3.7 - 225 cu in, Buick V-6 , known as the “oddfire engine". This has been rebuilt along with new motor mounts and rebuilt carburetor. The engine runs cool. The transmission is ST-300 Super Turbo automatic with shifter on steering column. Rear end is from a 1967 Camaro. Installed 12-circuit E-Z wiring harness, upgrading to a 12-volt system. Also, new Pertronix electronic ignition, 100-amp chrome alternator, spark plugs, plug wires & Sunpro gauges to monitor oil pressure, water temp and voltage. Fuel tank was removed & cleaned. Fuel guage is working correctly. Fuel pump, hard fuel line & in-line fuel filter are recent. Steering features a new Mustang II rack & pinion, and updated tilt steering column that includes turn signals & flashers. Borgeson shafts, bearings & u-joints connect it all together making the steering tight & smooth. Absolutely no need for power steering. Braking features all new 11 inch front disc brake assembly, rebuilt master cylinder, new power booster, proportioning valve, residual valve & brake lines. Drum brakes remain on the rear, along with the parking brake assembly. Car stops very well with little effort at the pedal. Front suspension is changed to a new Mustang II independent suspension, including crossmember, A-arms, coil springs, ball joints, rotors, disc brakes & shocks. Rear suspension has new springs installed. New 15x7 American Racing torque thrust wheels and Cooper 235-75 radial tires with chrome spline-style tuner lug nuts - with special socket drive – were added recently. The seats and matching side panels look to be original & in good condition. Retractable lap seat belts have been added in the front. New carpeting has been installed and interior freshly painted. In addition, a 12-volt accessory recepticle was added for GPS, chargers, etc, & a heater from a modern Toyota 4 Runner. Original AM radio front piece is installed in the dash, but there is no radio. Glove box is custom aluminum behind the chromed cover - the "Jeepster" script for the cover is missing. The speedometer cable connects the original 1949 gauge and dash. New red LED high beam indicator; new green LED turn signal Indicators. New ignition switch, new windshield, new windshield wipers, but the vacuum motor has not been hooked up but wiring connection is available under dash to hook up electric wiperconversion, if wanted. New outside rear view mirror; New front floor mats; new “oooga” horn. Vent windows will need new rubber soon. Exterior has high quality Viper Red basecoat paint with black accents and House of Kolor Red Ice Pearl is the clearcoat. Hood has custom installed gas struts that open the hood automatically (no prop rod needed and hood is much more stable). New internal safety catch for hood as well as new outside stainless hood safety latches. Hood also has custom installed metal air vents taken from a 1967 Mustang fastback. Spare tire has the rare hard cover also done in Viper Red basecoat / clearcoat. Signaltone air horns are very loud and work well, but will need an onboard air system to make them functional. New side-mount antenna. Header-style chrome side pipes with new aluminized hook up pipes and new flanges from manifolds. The oddfire engine makes a great sound thru them. New tail lights. Convertible top, side curtains, oak wood supporting the top & fastening hardware are all new. Included is a red boot in nice condition & a white roadster-style full cover with a zip out center so driver can drive with the top down and stay warm with the heater going. Chassis was pressure washed while on a lift, then treated with a rust inhibiter / neutralizer, rinsed, then sprayed with Dominion Sure Seal Undercoating to protect the solid, original floors. This 1950 Willys Jeepster Restomod is a very unique and beautiful ride. It has many modern improvements to make it more streetable and fun to drive in today's traffic. It has an Ohio title in my name. I will need $1000 deposit thru PayPal within 24 hours of auction ending & the balance will be due by cashiers check, cash, or bank transfer within 7 days. All funds will need to clear first before car is released. I can assist with getting Jeepster loaded but buyer is responsible for arranging transportation and all shipping costs.
