Vehicle Detail

I got this from a person I know. He started a frame off restoration in 2006. It was setting in his garage this year with everything done but the interior. That was how I got it. The Frame; The body was taken off and the original 351, automatic was removed. The 428 was rebuilt in another truck he had and has approximately 21K on it along with the transmission. The frame still has the VIN stamped on the top of the right rail and has the part number and built date on the outside of the right rail. I have in pictures of them and you can tell that was how clean the frame was. Everything was removed and the frame was painted and then parts were reinstalled. All the rubber bushings, steering parts, brake parts. brake lines (painted red in pic's), fuel lines (painted green in the pic's) were all cleaned and painted and replaced if necessary. All the brackets riveted to the frame were removed painted and reinstalled with bolts. You should be able to tell this in the pictures. The Body; It was originally brown and had mouldings on it. This was a southern truck as he brought it from Florida in 2002 when he returned home. I don't believe it was necessary to replace any panels. I have included pictures of under the doors, inside the doors, under the floors, bed and so on. I have more pictures if needed. The truck was painted red while disassembled then reassembled. The underneath of the cab and bed was done in a rust preventative primer then painted black. All the rubber body mounts and so on were replaced. All of the outer mouldings and emblems were removed. The front and rear bumpers were from the 1970 Ranger he had and had been rechromed at some point. They still look good. Someone fabricated little filler panels inside the rear bumper that meet the inside of the body and go under the bumper to hide the brackets. The Engine; As I stated he said it was a 1970 Mercury Interceptor motor and was bored .30 over when rebuilt. Other than the aftermarket valve covers and it is running an 850 Holley double pumper it looks stock and seems to run good. The snout on the air cleaner appears to be an aluminum fabricated beer can. The alternator, power steering pump and all the control modules under the hood were replaced with remanned ones. It has long tube headers and duals that run under the cab and into the mufflers. There are currently no tailpipes on it. The C-6 appears to be stock and looks clean. It has a stock Dana rear, non posi with 373's in it. The Interior; It has a later model stock cloth Ford seat in it. The original dash pad was in good shape and just dyed to match. The door panels, full carpet, rubber around front and rear glass and the rubbers in the doors were replaced with aftermarket items from LMC I believe. It has a Lecarra 9 bolt wheel with an adjustable polished adapter and horn button. The gauges are original and appear to work OK except for an aftermarket oil pressure gauge mounted under the dash. The steering column is original an painted to match. It has the stock AM/FM in it that works and has newer speakers in the doors. The wipers and washers do work. It is equipped with Dorman vent widow locks to help prevent break in and theft. The wheels; It has aftermarket aluminum wheels but 2 of the centers are missing from the right side. The tires are about 1/2 tread as they came from the Ranger he had as well. Some flaws; As always there are some. The windshield has a BB shot on the right side but has not cracked. I can have it replaced for 250.00 additional from winning bid. The horn is there, not hooked up and does not work. There is a paint chip behind the rain gutter on the left side that was touched up. I tried to include a picture of it. When you park it there are oil drops under the right side. Possibly rear main as I don't see anything from above coming down. I tightened the oil pan bolts to see if that helps. At one time the steering linkage hit the oil pan but appears to be OK now. The light in the heater control does not work. Most of these are minor but the buyer needs to know what I see. I have only put about 30 miles or so on it but may drive it around a little more. It seems to run drive and shift great. Lots of power. I have other pictures available if you want more. If you are specific about what you want and I don't have them i'll see if I can get them. Ask any questions and review all the pictures before bidding. If you have less than 10 transactions in your feedback for purchaser please email me before bidding or they will be cancelled. Sorry for any inconvienance. This is a no reserve auction as I believe the truck speaks for itself and will bring what I have invested in it. I'm into the car scene and thought I would try the truck but I think i'll stick with the muscle and rods. If you would like to talk to me send me your phone number and a time to call and i'll call you. Thanks for looking! On Sep-09-12 at 18:13:11 PDT, seller added the following information: Just an FYI, I tightened the pan bolts, put about 12 miles on it and parked it with cardboard under it. It is still leaking so figure on having to do something with that if it bothers you. Thanks
