Vehicle Detail
YOU REALLY DO HAVE TO SEE THIS CAR TO APPRECIATE IT. I have owned this car for approximately 10 years and it has been in a weather and heat controlled storage unit all that time. I decided to finish the car a few months ago and this is the current result. The car has never been wrecked or damaged. There is no “bondo” or other bodywork. The paint is new but the original paint was still in such good shape that all we really had to do was “scuff” the paint and repaint the car. The bumpers, chrome, and stainless trim are all original, undamaged and in excellent condition with no dents or defects. The car still has the Oregon license plates issued at the time of the original sale and the original license plate frames from the selling dealer (“Jerry Larson Mercury/Edsel” of Lebanon, Oregon). The car has just over 51,000 original miles! I recently disconnected the speedometer cable when I installed the new motor and transmission because the speedometer gearing was not correct and I have not yet installed the correct gear, but I am not driving the car and have put only approximately 250 miles on it since the changeover. The engine, transmission and other mechanical work was professionally performed by Ron Thompson at “Bowtie Performance” here in Oregon. And yes, even though he is a Chevy guy, he did a terrific job on this car. The new motor is a professionally built 347 cubic inch small block Ford “stroker” motor that has been polished and ported and the transmission is a newer professionally built Ford C4 automatic. There are many upgrades, modifications and parts including (but not limited to) the following: . 347 cid Ford "stroker", ported and polished motor (Everything related to the motor and mechanicals have been replaced with new high grade components) . Rebuilt C4 Ford automatic transmission . Lokar “short” shifter . New custom heavy duty radiator built for this car . 2.5” “Flowmaster” dual exhaust . Mated header system . New brake master cylinder and brake pads; rebuilt wheel cylinders . New heavy high cranking sealed battery . New custom stitched interior . New Coker “Bigs and Littles” whitewall tires . “Newstalgia” 15x8 steel wheels and 40 Ford style hubcaps and beauty rings . New engine compartment wiring . New high output alternator, coil and regulator . New Edelbrock 650 cfm 4 barrel carburetor . New water pump and hoses . New fuel pump This is a great driver, a head-turner and a fun car. It is a unique and quality build that was built to drive. You will not regret this purchase.NOTE RE DELIVERY/PICK-UP: Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. Seller will assist and cooperate with making shipping arrangements and will consider delivering the car if the buyer pays actual incurred costs to a destination acceptable to Seller.
