Fitted with a rare factory hard top. Rust Free – Was a California black plate collector car until it was purchased 20 years ago and driven to the Midwest where it was driven minimally and then stored covered on a concrete floor for the last 15 years. The Body: This is a very solid TR3 with Straight lines, a rust free frame with no signs of damage or repair. She has a couple of bumps and bruises here and there, but no major dents or hacks. Everything is complete including all of the proper chrome, plus the fender beads, which are in good condition. This is a very solid car, including the rockers, fenders (inner and outer), bonnet, etc. The floors, trunk and spare tire compartment are also solid and don’t have any rust (see pictures) The paint is decent and presents well, no peeling and it’s shiny but the primrose yellow looks to be a couple of shades darker than the primrose yellow of the early days. The door handles are working properly and the latches have been rebuilt with new cables installed. The Mechanical: New tires. Not a leaker and does not smoke. Car fires right up, runs and drives. The wiring harness has been replaced and all of the electrical is working. The brakes have been rebuilt but the clutch slave cylinder will need to be bled or rebuilt because the clutch pedal is sticky. The clutch itself is strong and the transmission is in good working order. The carburetors could also use a good cleaning. I have her listed as a “Great Restoration Candidate” because it is not a recently restored car and I’ve yet to meet a Triumph TR that does not need work. In my opinion, there is nothing worse than tearing into a project or dealing with a breakdown when rusted solid bolts or molested parts are involved. This car could be driven “as is” or restored. Sold as is. I can make this TR3 available for inspection with 24 hours notice. I reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time.
