Vehicle Detail
Please note: This is a 1982 model. Since it is a European import (Italy) Ebay system does not recognize the 14 number VIN so in order to bypass that problem I had to auction the car as a 1980 Here is a 1982 Maserati Quattroporte Series III imported from Italy (Milan) with a good running 4.9 engine 4 weber carburetors and factory standard transmission chrysler 727 torqueflite transmission. Factory dual exhaust, headers, 4 disc brakes all aroound with new rotors and new tires. All 5 original campagnolo wheels are present including the full spare. The legendary leather interior is in decent condition though not mint. This QP starts and runs pretty well, especially after a few minutes of warming up. I personally performed an oil change and filled up the gas tank with high octane gasoline. I drove this car for a few days just to get a feel for it. Registration is paid until March 2013. This Maserati would definetely benifit from a new set of spark plugs, Carburators could be slightly better calibrated by someone who knows webers I feel that the rear shocks would need to be replaced sometime in the near future. Nontheless this car is in decent driving condition and a lot of fun hearing that unique Maserati engine roar. This Quattroporte has the early very desireable air cleaner that also fits the infamous Bora which are extremely hard to find. My biggest concern is the rust underneath the front windshield. That is somthing that would need to be addressed very soon before the beginning of the winter Unless that car will be just parked and stored inside a garage. almost throughout the bottom part or the windshield there is rust formed that needs to be stopped and removed. The is also a large paint bubble on the front passenger side door which I suspect rust has formed there too and on the bottom part of the same door. I didn't see any other rusted or rusted through parts on the car. Obviuosly there are several cosmetic issues that need to be addressed: Out of 4 power windows only one work as it should the rest are tired and takes forever to come up though they do all come up. Going down is no problem. Speedometer is not working workin. Weatherstripping is coming unglued on the driver door and the trunk lid. The paint is the original paint and the clear coat is gone on several part of the car. A/C does not blow cold although I can see that the compressor is working.
