1983 Mercedes 380SL NO RESERVE 101,980 miles SALVAGE Title VIN# WDBBA45A5DB023801 NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING/ AS-IS / MUST BE TOWED Originally I bought this to play around with, invest in some minor cosmetic work and eventually sell, but not soon after buying it, it ran out of gas and after that I could not start it. Rather than towing it to a mechanic and fixing the problem I would like to sell it AS-IS. I do not know what the problem is, but it did drive previous to running out of gas, and by all accounts it had a sound engine and smooth transmission, but I will emphasize- I do not know what the problem is, it will have to be towed away by purchaser. I put gas in and tried starting it, but it just won't turn over- it only cranks. Now when you try to start it, it will crank very slowly. I believe the battery to be okay because I charged it and tried to replace it with another used battery and got the same result. I would really love to get this running, but I don't know what I am getting into and I simply can't afford to lose more on my investment. This is an excellent parts car or possibly a restoration project for the right person. The mileage is low and the body and interior are in decent condition. I was going to repaint it. You can see in the pictures the paint/ clear coat is wearing thin and spotty. And it looks like there is a small swath of blue/green paint on passenger front (see in pic). It has the hard top and soft top, which comes out and sits great and is in very good condition. The passenger visor is missing and the wood centerpiece/and some dash parts should be replaced. A/C is not working. Some of the chrome trim on the outside is missing (also see in pic). Tires are decent, no rust wear that I can see. No tears or rips in the seats. Located in Myrtle Beach, SC, 29577. Titled in South CarolinaVehicle Brands:ExemptSalvage - non rem. The purchaser accepts there is NO WARRANTY and the vehicle has a SALVAGE TITLE. A $250 deposit must be paid within 24 hours thru paypal and the balance must be paid within 10 days along with the removal of the car or storage costs may be incurred. No refunds. Certified funds only. Vehicle and title will not be released until all monies are cleared. A bill of sale will be made to assure both buyer and seller. Final payment will be arranged after deposit.
