Vehicle Detail
***Please note that the listing will end on Aug 1st. I want to let any buyer know that I will be out of town until Aug 8th, so it won't be available for pick-up until then. I hope that won't prevent anyone from bidding and buying this nice Explorer.*** I’m selling my girlfriend’s 1999 Ford Explorer XLT 4X4 SUV (at her request, of course). She's moving out of state and won't have any more need for it. She bought it as a replacement for her 1990 Montero. It a 4.0L V6 4X4 with lots of options that all still work. It has leather seats, power window, 4-speed automatic transmission, a sunroof and lots more. At 13 years old and with 193,090 miles, it certainly shows some signs of wear, but it has lots of years and lots of miles left in her. Most of the miles are highway miles. My GF lives in Fernvale, TN and worked in Nashville and had a 50 mile round trip each day. The 4 wheel drive still works great and actually gets used everytime she drives up the driveway, so all those parts get moved and lubed all the time. The body and paint is still in pretty good shape. There are some dents in the hood where a limb fell on it several years ago. They show in one of the photos. They're not bad. She has the oil changed regularly and keeps the tires rotated. I replaced the hood struts a couple of years ago, but they're going bad again (but easy to replace). The liftgate and rear glass struts work great. The rear brakes were replaced about 3 years ago and the front brakes were done last year. It also has an AC/Delco battery that's only about a year old. While the bumper hitch has a Class II type rating, the Explorer also comes with a Draw-Tite Class II receiver hitch with a drawbar and 2” ball. New, that would cost more than $150. Take a look at the photos to see an honest look at it. It’s still very clean and tidy. She has a chert driveway and you can see the whisk broom she keeps under the seat to keep the floors swept out. The leather seats are in very good condition (she only weight about 120 pounds, so she barely compressed the foam). (Yes, CHERT, not dirt... if you're not famaliar with it, check out the Wikipedia article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chert) Also, after listing a number of Local Pick-up ONLY items, I’m just saying up front… Please be a serious bidder. I’m requiring a $375 down payment and the rest due before or at pickup. Please don't say you just want to pay the whole thing when you show up. This IS listed as a Local Pick-up ONLY item. Please don’t ask me how much it will cost to ship it to Waukesha, Wisconsin. I don’t know. If YOU want to arrange for shipping on your own, that’s great. US Bidders Only and LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY. The mailing address is Franklin, TN, but we’re located in Fernvale, near Fairview, TN (easy to access off I-40, west of Nashville). If anyone wants to buy the Explorer and arrange their own shipping, that would be fine with me. If you're not from the Nashville or Franklin area, drive in and make a day of it. There are countless places to go and things to see.
