1958 Austin-Healy Sprite "Bugeye" This little piece of history is a 1958 Austin-Healey Sprite that became affectionately known as a “Bugeye Sprite” after its introduction before the 1958 Monaco Grand Prix. With a little bit of love this car will make someone very happy. Engine starts and runs, but the brakes need work, so I haven’t driven it. I purchased this as a project, but time hasn’t been on my side — I hope to give it a good home. Come with lots of extra parts — rear differential, springs, transmission, wheels, and the mechanism for the top. Please read my detailed description below... Body:This red gem is in excellent shape — no rust, no major imperfections just the expected dents here and there. Panels need slight adjustments, but line up well. Even the floor pans are rust free!! Paint & Trim:The paint is in surprisingly good shape, still has good shine to it. There are small imperfections as expected, but you could drive it without a re-paint depending on what you’re willing to spend. Also, the chrome grill is in excellent condition, bumpers are a bit pitted, and we do have the lens cover for the front left turn indicator. Interior:The seats are great, same goes for the dash. The interior really only needs a carpet kit and you would be all set to go. Like I said, we have the mechanism for the top, it would just need the fabric — but who needs a top anyway? Mechanical:Engine starts and runs — the carb just got rebuilt. The front brakes need to be gone over though before it’s roadworthy. Basically this car is a simple project with all the basics taken care of...
