Vehicle Detail

This is a 2002 BMW X5 3.0 that drives well but needs some maintenance work. We're the second owners, having purchased the vehicle in 2005. This X5 has been a great family car for us, but we're now living in San Francisco and find ourselves just not needing a car often enough to justify keeping it. The X5 features a factory single CD player and an aftermarket iPod dock that I installed in 2005, allowing audio to play directly through the stereo via a dock connector in the front cupholder. The mounting holder for the iPod/iPhone is showing some wear and tear, but plays perfectly. It also serves as a charger for older (pre-2008) iPods and iPhones. Newer Apple devices will not charge in the dock, but will play audio through the dock connector just fine. Both the interior and exterior of the vehicle are in good shape, with typical signs of wear for 10+ year old car. There are some minor scratches on the front right bumper and rear bumpers, but no other exterior body damage. The interior is in generally good shape, though the floor carpeting in the backseat area could use a cleaning. Current IssuesThe service engine light is on, with fault code P0174, which will need to be serviced in order to pass most emissions/smog checks. There are also a rear brake light and tail light bulb that need replacing. There's also some signs of some minor pressure loss in the power steering line, so that should be replaced in the coming months (there's been no noticeable change in the feel of the wheel when driving and turning, so any leak/loss in pressure to date has been minor). Recent ServiceWe've completed $4,000 worth of service on the X5 during the first half of this year, provided by our local BMW dealership. Those services included: New batteryOil and filter serviceReplacement of drivers side door lockComplete brake service (all new pads, rotors)New drive beltsReplaced water pumpLeak tested and refilled cooling systemReplaced intake air boot and air filterThe tires were replaced two years ago (Aug 2010) with Hankook Dynapros. The X5 was most recently licensed in Washington state and has a Washington state issued title. It is currently located in San Francisco, so if you're in the Bay Area and would like to see the vehicle in person and/or arrange a test drive, please contact us via the Ask the Seller link here on the page.
