Up for auction is my 1982 Toyota Diesel Land Cruiser bj42/44. I had to list it as a 1980 because of the vin number. Here is the details so please read all the way through before placing a 1982 Toyota BJ42/44. It is essentially a bj42 body on a bj44 frame. Just a little bit longer frame than the standard bj42. The guy that built this in Japan did this so he could attach a winch to the rear of the vehicle. (pretty smart if you ask me, most of the time I had rather winch backwards than forwards.) It is powered by the 3B Toyota Diesel engine that runs great. It is a 4 speed manual transmission. Leafed over suspension with brand new HD Zeal BJ-44 leaf springs. 4.11 gears, HD high steer components, extended travel Bilsteins in the front, Ranchos in the rear, Fabbed front and rear bumpers. BJ-62 Power Steering. Batteries moved to the passenger (left) side of engine compartment. The interior has been sprayed with a rhino lining spray, manufacture unknown. The batteries are less than a year old, they are Bosch premium batteries. There is a hole in the drivers side floorboard. This is not a typical 70mph vehicle. It was originally built for off road use but I drive it all over town. The tire size is 33x12.50x15 which look a little small on the truck but with the gears it is running, it travels fine. Keep in mind this truck was built in Japan so it is a right hand drive vehicle. You actually get use to driving it on this side and to be honest I prefer it. This vehicle gets lots of attention wherever I go. This is NOT a show truck. The truck has dints and dings and lots of character. If you want a show truck you should look elsewhere. If you want a beast to go anywhere and get great fuel mileage doing it, this is the one for you. I do not have the hard top or hard doors for this truck. What you see in the pictures is what you get. I encourage anyone interested in this vehicle to come check it out and take if for a spin. The truck is located in Glasgow KY. I am 1.5 hours north of Nashville and 1.5 hours south of Louisville. The paint job on the truck is not a professional paint job and unfortunately my pictures don't seem to show that. My camera on my phone is all I have to take the pictures. With that being said I will be more than happy to take any picture of any specific part of the truck and send it to you. This truck needs a new starter. I can start the truck by either tapping on the starter with a hammer or popping the clutch. So needless to say, you will need to replace it or get it rebuilt. This truck can be restored and bring lots of money but personally I would use it as it is and enjoy the fact you have a toyota diesel that looks great and gets wonderful fuel mileage. This truck was purchased from a military guy. I have the import papers, military registration and certification of title as well as the japanese title. I also have all of the military documentation showing when/where it was brought over. I will sell the truck with all of this paperwork and a bill of sale. Buyer is responsible for titling vehicle in their state. I have spoke with the local DMV and they said it would be no problem to title it with all of the paperwork I have. I never titled the truck because I didn't want to pay the 6% sales tax and I just drive it off road. Actually I drive it around town but that is a different story. :) The tag you see on the truck is off of my other fj40. I can't afford both so one has to go. I have tried to be upfront and honest on everything so please ask any questions before you bid. Thanks for looking. I just realized that the front drive shaft is not in the truck in the picture I took. I took it out to replace the u joint and didn't put it back in before I took the picture. The drive shaft is back in the truck and the 4wd works fine. I do have a hard top that the buyer can purchase for an additional $500. This is a realist because the last bidder wanted to make payments. I will accept cash when you pick up the vehicle but NO PAYMENTS!
