Vehicle Detail

1973 (1ST YEAR) REFURBISHED OLDS OMEGA, RARE 4-DR. SEDAN VERSION, BEAUTIFUL SHAPE Up for sale is a spectacular classic Olds Omega that I have owned for about 10 years. I am only the 3rd owner of this vehicle and had the body and engine refurbished in 2006-2007. The 33,000 miles on the odometer are ORIGINAL (not 133,000 or 233,000) and this has been verified by more than one mechanic. However, the inline 6-cylinder engine was reconditioned at 31,600 miles, so for all intents and purposes the motor only has 1,500 miles on it. VEHICLE HISTORY This Omega was purchased new in 1973 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and spent its first 33 years in the Sunshine State. The original owner had the car 23 years, until 1996, and during that time drove it only 23,000 miles (avg. 1000 miles a year). I have to assume the car was garaged this whole time when not being driven, judging by the relatively great condition the vehicle was in by the time I found it. A second owner, the one I bought from, had the car for 6 years but did not do too much with it, and drove it only an additional 5,000 miles. The odometer was at 28,500 at the time of my purchase in 2002. In 2006 I decided it was time to spruce up the body and paint (which was fading, plus there were a couple of small dents from the previous owners), so a friend who is a professional mechanic and body technician fixed the dents, repainted the car (kept original green metallic color, which GM called "moss gold"), removed and painted the engine, and while it was all apart, reconditioned the motor even though it technically didn't need it. I moved the vehicle to Pittsburgh in 2007 just after the refurbishing was complete, and the car has resided here in Pennsylvania to this day. However, I have NEVER driven the car in extreme cold or winter road conditions, so it is accurate to say that this "Florida" car has never touched snowy roads nor been exposed to road salt! VEHICLE FEATURES It's a basic Omega, 4-door sedan (very few of this style to be found out there), hardtop. Few if any options: no A/C, no clock, and only the standard in-dash AM radio (which does not work and I was told can't be fixed). What's important is that the car drives and handles well: suspension is smooth, the automatic transmission is solid. Power steering and power brakes were standard on this car. Brake pads/shoes are good; tires are good. Imperfections: the radio (as mentioned before); windshield wiper switch works but is very fragile (could break if handled too firmly); dash lights sometimes flicker off (dash light switch may need replacing); there is one tear on the front seat (otherwise the interior is nearly flawless); some minor finish imperfections (a few tiny scratches and paint bubbles). The only rust to be found is on the tail light bezels (which can be replaced), and in one area inside the trunk well. ADDITIONAL ITEMS INCLUDED WITH VEHICLE Much of the original paperwork associated with this Omega has been preserved and will be included with the vehicle. Some of these items include: original owner's manual; consumer information pamphlet; new vehicle warranty, emission system warranty, and maintenance schedule pamphlets; original dealer invoice (to first buyer); original pre-delivery check sheet; and more. See photos to get a look at some of these items! BIDDER/BUYER INFO (TERMS AND CONDITIONS) Thank you in advance for your interest in my vehicle. I will do everything I can to assist prospective buyers with whatever they need. Please feel free to ask any questions, many questions, or even "stupid' questions. This is a fixed-price sale ("Buy It Now"), but I will consider offers below the "Buy It Now" price ("Best Offer"). DELIVERY IS INCLUDED IF YOU CHOOSE "BUY IT NOW"--SEE SPECIFICS BELOW UNDER SHIPPING INFO. The following terms and conditions govern the sale of this vehicle. PLEASE read them carefully before bidding. This vehicle is sold "AS IS", with no warranty expressed, written or implied. I have made an effort to disclose known defects with the car. I can assume no responsibility for any repairs needed once the car is in the buyer's possession. PAY PAL is preferred but other methods of payment may be considered. Methods other than PAY PAL, if agreed upon by me, must clear my bank before the vehicle leaves my property. You must be over 18 years old to bid. Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of end of auction with your name, address, email address, telephone number, and plans for taking possession of the vehicle. Within 48 hours of end of auction, a deposit of $500 is required to secure the vehicle, or I will reserve the right to relist the vehicle. The buyer then agrees to pay the remaining balance within 7 days. If balance is not paid within 7 days or another mutually agreed time, I reserve the right to relist the vehicle and the deposit will be forfeited. Therefore, please be sure you have the money to pay for this vehicle before you bid on it! SHIPPING INFO FOR A "BUY IT NOW" SALE: delivery of the vehicle is included in the price. I will deliver the vehicle by driving it to your location anywhere in the 48 contiguous United States at no cost to you. The vehicle must be prepaid in full before I can depart on the trip to your location, and upon delivery, I ask that you provide a means of getting me to the local bus station or airport to return home. FOR A "BEST OFFER" SALE: shipping or delivery costs for this vehicle are the responsibility of the buyer. However, I will assist in whatever way I can: with loading the vehicle if you send a shipper to transport the vehicle, or with picking you up at the local bus station or airport if you wish to come here and drive the vehicle home. In the latter case though, you MUST obtain insurance and a temporary tag for the vehicle, and present these documents for my verification, before driving the vehicle off my property. If necessary, I can bring you to my local motor vehicle agency to obtain a temporary transit tag, but you must arrive with insurance in effect on the vehicle. SPECIAL NOTE: if you prefer, I am willing to drive the vehicle to your location, anywhere in the 48 contiguous United States, for the cost of gasoline reimbursement plus the most economical bus or plane fare I can find to get home, plus a mutually-agreed-upon fee to help defray my lodging and meal costs for the trip. This may be a cheaper and/or more convenient option for you; but the vehicle must be prepaid in full before I can depart on the trip to your location, and upon delivery, I ask that you provide a means of getting me to the local bus station or airport to return home. Thank you and happy bidding!
