Up for auction is an all original 1954 Pontiac Chieftain Deluxe Catalina 2 Door Hardtop. This car has been in the family for 20 plus years. A cousin owned it prior to us. I believe we are the third. It has only been driven for maintainence purposes. Although the car has been mostly garaged in Southern California for the last 2-3 decades, it's finally starting to show some signs of wear. As you can see in the photos the original leather seats have dried out a bit. Headliner, door panals, and carpet are all original in very good condition. Matching dash board, matching steering wheel and gauges are all original in xlnt cond. (this model did not come with radio). The trunk is in good condition with original carpet, and panals (there are a few oil spots).The spare is a new Firestone Wide Whitewall to match the existing tires (whitewalls have yellowed from age). Mechanically the car is very original and very sound. From the 268.4 Cu. In. Straight Eight engine to the Hydromatic Transmission to the Rear Differential, (all matching numbers as far as I know). It could be a driver if you want it to be. Starter, generator (original 6 Volt system), and carburator have recently been rebuilt. We're not sure if there has ever been any body work done to the car. In the photos you can even see a small spot where the original laquer paint has spider webbed. Color is white/yellow interior and exterior. The chrome is all in very good to xlnt cond. Very little rust anywhere! All gauges, lights, door handles, wipers, work great. The skirts were purchased back east and are from a '54 deluxe which need to be painted (same trim and in good shape). 48,263 original miles. We even have the original Owners Manual!
