The previous buyer for this car never showed up so here again I have up for sale my 1979 Volkswagen Rabbit L Diesel with only 104xxx miles (yes, odometer still works)!!! This has been a great little car that gets awesome fuel mileage--up to 46mpg!!! It seems to run well and gets up to speed nicely with a newer 5-speed manual transmission. Here's a list of work I've done to this rabbit: front right tie rod, brand new windshield, all new coolant hoses, alternator, oil baffle, brake rotors, brake lines, brake pads, shift ball assebly, rear wheel cylinders, brake master cylinder, valve cover gasket, 1.5yr old battery, vacuum pump rebuild, and all new filters. I'm only selling this car to free up some money for my other projects. The interior is in pretty good shape. I installed some new speakers in the rear for more sound and put carpet down--see pictures. The car comes with the original stereo out of the dash in case you want to install a new one with the speakers I installed. The dash is cracked but that's pretty usual in these older cars. The seats dont have any tears, but there are a couple small holes in the drivers seat, and the door panels are in good shape. The headliner is also intact and is not sagging. The exterior is in ok condition considering the age but the paint is chipping on the roof and there are some blemishes. There are no dents on the doors, bumpers, or hood, but there is one small dent on the rear hatch but it doesnt affect it's functionality. You can see the condition of the tires in the pictures and I've included a couple of pics of the underneath of the vehicle. Overall there is some surface rust but nothing is structural--its all superficial. There's no rust on the strut towers or control arm mounts (front and rear). This model also does not include a/c.Buyer is responsible for a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit through paypal within 24hrs of the auction ending and then has 7 days to pick up the vehicle and pay the remaining amount in cash.
