You are looking at an excellent BMW E9 Coupe. The car has 55K original miles on it. I bought the car over 15 years ago in Scottsdale Arizona and it has been in Tucson, Arizona ever since. The following items have been restored on this car. 1) the leather interior has been redone in the natural tan color. 2) the wood was re-veneered by a master woodworker. 3) the bumpers have been polished. 3) the car was re-painted just before I got it in Scottsdale. 4) The engine blew a head gasket and I was advised to put in a better, later 3.5 liter engine instead of rebuilding the 3.0 . The 3.5 is visually identical to the 3.0 but has better metallurgy and is 500ccs bigger. The engine was from a 635i. If you are interested in such things, series II fuel injection from a late 535i or 635i could be fitted. Carl at La Jolla Imports does this on a regular basis. 5) New (not rebuilt) Weber carbs were fitted. They use the original air filter assembly and are not visible. The late Solexes were troublesome and the Webers are an excellent upgrade. 6) The car has Sport (yellow) Bilsteins fitted front and rear. 7) tires are new with less than a thousand miles. 7) New radiator , hoses and late model fan and clutch conversion fitted. 8) Illumention Electronic ignition fitted. 8) Air conditioning hoses, thermostat, and dryer replaced. Air is very cold. 9) Brake system overhauled 10) new windoshield and rear window seals were fitted when the car was painted. 11) new battery, rebuilt alternator The 1974 was the first year for many upgrades on the Coupe. The improvements include 1) better window motors 2) late style steering wheel 3) a real air conditioner with a Behr compressor and AC fan. Prior Coupes usually had York compressors and some cars had add-on air. 4) intermittent wipers 5) late type bumpers. If you prefer early bumpers, I have a friend who has a couple sets off of earlier models which are reasonably priced. 6) shoulder seat belts. Early coupes only had lap belts due to problems in attaching the shoulder belt due to the lack of a “B” post. 3.0cs also had 4 wheel disc brakes while 2800cs had rear drums. Other questions ?
