Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a good farm fresh 1986 Isuzu Trooper II Turbo Diesel, 2 door, 5 speed, 4WD Model with the most desired engine upgrade on an Isuzu Diesel engine - the 2.2 L Turbo Diesel with 3rd Generation Rods Factory Recall Upgrade - this makes an already bullet proof engine nearly indestructible Please read the following for a thorough description as well as requirements for purchasing the vehicle I require $1000 deposit to be made thru PayPal at the end of the auction - if you fail to do so, I will allow the next highest bidder the vehicle. DO NOT bid if you have 0 feedback without contacting me first. I require the balance of the purchase price to be made within a week of the close of the auction - but will hold the SUV for 30 days free of charge until it can be picked up. Please watch the following video of the Trooper - cranking and a walkaround This Trooper is in overall good condition. The motor has just turned 205,000 on the odometer. It has the ultra reliable Isuzu 2.2 Diesel that has been known to give over 500,000 miles of service. What other 4x4 SUV can you get that will give mid 20 to low 30 mpgs? This engine has the ultra rare 3rd Generation Rods Upgrade - this was a recall that Isuzu issued back in the late 80's early 90's that allowed owners of the 2.2 L Turbo Diesel engines to get their engines replaced with a long block that had upgraded - much beefier connecting rods - or research 3rd generation rods on Isuzupup.com or planetisuzoo.com . This service was performed by qualified Isuzu service techs and is evident from the plastic oil blow by tank on the drivers side firewall of the engine compartment. is a professional conversion. As you can see from the pictures and the video the body is straight and mostly rust free - except for the minor areas noted in the pictures and video - front drivers side fender having rust and drivers side rear wheel well rocker having minor rust. The interior is in average condition with a cracked dash, moderate wear on the drivers seat, minor wear on the passenger seat, the rear seats are gone and this Trooper is ready to haul gear, tools, camping equipment, animals, etc...in the clean cargo area. The glass is all clean - crack free glass - except for a very small chip on drivers side of windshield. Sound comes from a Sony AM / FM CD player and is adequate. Front windows roll up an down properly - rear windows slide open and close as they should. Power Steering works as it should with no leaks. 5 speed transmission shifts thru all 5 forward gears an reverse as it should. 4x4 engages and disengages properly. Engine has good power, good oil pressure, idles smoothly and does not have blowby. Injection Pump does not leak. This Trooper also has working A/C - see the video showing that the clutch is engaged and the compressor is running. You don't see that very often on a vehicle of this age. It is not going to have the cabin as cold as a meat locker - but it is nice to have functioning A/C. This truck is ready to serve somebody well for many years to come. It would make an awsome hunting buggy. There is really nothing wrong with it at all other than its cosmetic issues - but I have tried to think of any little thing that may concern the future buyer and have listed them below The bad is as follows: Drivers side rockers have small amounts of rust thru Rear doors are Red instead of Blue All the paint is all original but has some oxidation and clear coat peeling off - especially on the hood and roof - not bad for a 26 year old truck Tires are in good shape but do have dry rot cracking - which I have seen on most Michelin tires with any age on them All the black Body Molding trim has fallen off except for one small piece by the rear passenger side The factory antenna is not attached Overall - a good 26 year old vehicle - with imperfections - cracked and missing minor interior trim pieces - stains - peeling paint - these old diesels do not have power like a modern V8 - they do not have creature comforts of a Lexus This would be an awesome hunting buggy, work truck, farm vehicle, etc.... These Isuzu's love biodiesel as well if riding for free is your thing. If I have left anything out, please ask and I will try to post an answer for all to see as quickly as possible. Fly in and drive this truck back anywhere in the US. Good luck bidding. On Jul-22-12 at 08:27:25 PDT, seller added the following information: A friend of mine from the isuzupup.com / planetisuzoo.com website informed me that I have stated something incorrectly about the 3rd gen recall info - Both sites are an absolutely amazing source of information - must have favorites for the Isuzu lover Isuzu replaced the entire bottom end of the engine with a short block - not a long block as I originally stated - so the top end of the engine, head, valves, etc have not been replaced If I have left anything else out - please feel free to ask any questions
