Though sharing many of the same features, the Firebird was produced a few months after the Camaro and to this day offer a unique alternative the the typical Mustang and Camaro pony or muscle car classics. These first year cars especially reflect that with their appreciating values. This particular low mileage (67k) Firebird came with a 326ci V8 engine from the factory, and an automatic transmission. It has since been professionally converted to a manual Muncie M21 4 speed transmission which shifts absolutely flawlessly! Brand new rear end with 3.73 rear end. The V8 engine sounds healthy and strong, with a recent tune from Corvette Alley in Anacortes, WA where they went through the car and the owner put $5000 taking an already very nice car and making it just superb! Engine pulls well throughout the RPM range, and is coupled with a Holley Street Dominator intake manifold and Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor. The transmission, as we mentioned, is tight and shifts great with a Hurst shifter and custom console. The brakes do not pull side to side and the car tracks down the street perfectly straight. This is a very well sorted classic, which sets it apart from lesser Firebirds. The car has been restored and converted to a custom dark red/maroon exterior and a fully restored black vinyl interior. H.O. Vinyl decals. The original console and steering wheel are also included with the car. The car looks great and has NO RUST anywhere. Rear bumper has been re-chromed recently, and the starter is new. The undercarriage is beautiful and hides nothing. 2.5â?? stainless steel exhaust throughout with headers and Magna-Flow mufflers- this car sounds awesome! Full size spare to match the custom wheels. Tires and wheels are outstanding with no nicks or scratches and tires like new. Overall, an outstanding machine, a HO replica with even better performance!
